The whole experience was great from the price, the helpfulness of the staff we came into contact with. The room was clean and tidy and had a great view of the sea. It was also just a short 10 minute walk in to town.

Doggy was made very welcome with doggybed and treats in room, and arrangements made so we could have breakfast without bothering other guests with our pet , this was really appreciated.

The sofas in the lounge need updating as well as some of the items of furniture in the bedroom and the bathrooms could do with an update, but saying that the value for money to stay in this beautiful building is very good. A proper coffee machine would be very much appreciated at breakfast rather than filtered coffee. Bedroom corridor lighting is a bit too bright and less light would give more ambience. The changing area for the spa could be improved. This is a stunning hotel with so much potential.

The location is fantastic and the views from the balcony rooms are stunning. Room sizes on the large double Seaview balcony room were good and very nice. Features. Hotel has so much potential, it is really beautiful. There is a feeling of old world Grandeur but it could do with an update. This could definitely be a five star destination hotel with some improvements.

Tired decor, dozy girl on reception didn't answer internal phone so l had to go downstairs to ask for help opening terrace doors. She was talking to her friend and said she hadn't heard the phone. The staff we saw were very young - students l think - and lacked training and supervision. The flag on top of the hotel has totally frayed down to half of the Cornish flag. This was quite a good metaphor, somehow.

Friendly staff, beautiful terrace. Exceptionally helpful groundsman opened the terrace doors in the bedroom which were stuck. Stunning views of the sea. Very nice pool and gym looked ok

Although we paid to stay at the hotel, we couldn't eat there on the Friday evening due to a coach tour arriving. So we couldn't eat in the hotels restaurant, although we were staying at the hotel. Also early hours of both mornings of our stay, 03.30 hours the heating system kicked in and woke us up due to quite a noisy knocking sound. This noise lasted 30 to 45 mins on both days.

A good choice of Breakfast, full English and various cereal to choose from. Also toast if you wanted

It was full of workmen which took the shine off the property. Lots of people smoking outside the entrance so you’d have to walk through a plume of smoke to come in or out. Bar staff member rude :(

Staff was friendly but it seemed under pressure, possibly short of staff as sometimes the bar was unattended for a long periods of time.

I did like location, facilities, the architecture of the building itself.
