Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomGorgeous property with wonderful staff throughout. Our room was in one of the converted cottages, beautifully done and we even had an Easter egg left as a gift as it was over Easter weekend. Everywhere was spotless and well presented, food and drink exceptional, perfect place for a romantic getaway.

Wonderful stay in one of the cottages’ rooms in the mews. The hotel is a dream come true. Great location and definitely worth to have a walk around the property. We had a very nice afternoon tea. The staff is so helpful and extremely kind.

United KingdomWhile the property’s lack of luggage assistance was unexpected for a 5-star hotel, it wasn’t a major issue for us. Overall, our stay was still enjoyable despite this minor inconvenience.
Staying at this property felt like stepping back in time to the era of Westeros lords – a super location with classic, beautiful surroundings. The cleanliness was exceptional.

It was just exceptional. The setting and the hotel itself were just mind blowing .,so much so we're returning in spring and going to also treat our daughter's to stay there also .The young waitress serving our breakfast asked Donna if would she like an oatmilk mocha with her breakfast ,and we realised that other staff members inform the staff what individual clients like to drink ,and confirmed when one bartender took over from another and even knew what cocktails we both like ( long island teas and whiskey sours . Each meal we had was indescribable in it's perfection in both taste and presentation ,and polished cutlery to crisp clean napkins .from a wonderful room and view to fabulous open fires in the most beautiful manor house . I've stayed in top hotels all over the world ,nothing beats the manor house in Castle Combe Thankyou for our stay and thankyou So much to their staff ,you went above and so far beyond Martin Shepherd

FranceThe rooms were too dark and old fashioned but not in the good way… It smells dust and humidity in our rooms (cottage 1) and it was impossible to open windows as we were on the ground floor with people passing in front of our window. I didn’t like the room at all and I found the price expensive.
The manor is just beautiful with the park. Really loved the place. The pastries at the breakfast were as good as pastries in a French palace !

This property is good on so many levels, whether you would like to bring your dog or want a luxury stay. Even the dog friendly rooms are pristine and have a lovely welcome pack for your dog. There are separate areas in the hotel for dog friendly breakfasts so non dog lovers can also enjoy their space. The dog friendly areas are by no means second class, in fact we preferred them.

United KingdomThe Inn menu was very limited and the portions very small. I thought the main course was a starter. The menu indicated a fish restaurant as there was little else. No chicken and no salmon. Also we were given limited information about what was available in the hotel. I thought there was only a tasting menu so chose the Inn. Seems there was also a normal menu. The breakfast was a little expensive also but the breakfast room looked very inviting. £30.00 for a full English.
The location, the friendly professional staff, the decor of the room and the silence.
