Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI didn’t request the most expensive bedroom but the one allocated was small, partly due to the inclusion of a bathroom. This seems a problem now - unless you pay for a large room, the expectation that each room has to be en-suite spoils the original room space in older hotels and you don’t know what you’ll get. If you think of staying at the Sun other than as a single occupant, I suggest you specifiy a large room if staying for more than two nights. There was no room for a chair other than the dressing table stool. There is a secondary bar area with seating in the restaurant side but it was not open for residents, obliging anyone wishing to sit rather than lie on a bed, to do so in a bar with its background noise.
Breakfast was fine. A ‘typical’ English pub stay. Car parking available as advertised. Cleanliness okay. Bar seems busy apparently with locals.

United KingdomOur friends said the staff were not welcoming. There was some confusion over an evening meal- being told they could order but have to wait half an hour to then being told over an hour to then being told they weren’t taking any orders at all. They ended up at the pub around the corner. Not really the point of staying at the sun.
I bought a stay here for friends previously who couldn’t rate it higher. I then purchased again for some other friends. They said it was comfortable.

United KingdomWell, the weather could have been better. It would have been nice if when we were eating in the actual hotel we could have eaten from the bar menu as it all came from the same kitchen
My wife and I brought my sister on a nostalgic trip, Our family have been staying here for around 100 years, It is 70 years since we had stayed there. We were pleased to find that not too many changes had been made. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful, the breakfast was very good indeed , The evening meal in the dining room was adequate, the second night we ate in the bar and found there were more choices but overall the food was good. We all enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend the hotel, Warkworth and Northumberland as the place to visit.

United Kingdomnot as nice as it looks in that photo needs new bed mattress it's sunk in middle and give you a bad back the seat has stains on it, the fan extractor needs a good old clean never been done for some years looking at it if your stopping in the bridle suite it's very noisy from the banging of the pup door right underneath you same with all the guest rooms front doors its a hell of a shock if your asleep and they close them they could do with something to stop the them banging hard and I no its down to people them self's to quietly close them but most people forget needs a new KETTLE desperately, A cordless one the kettle has a 15 inch cord on it so if like me with arthritis in the back is a nightmare to neel on floor to unplug to pour a cuppa out, and for the price kettle's are, needs new lamp electrician tapes holding the bulb in needs a bit colour in the room it's very dull it's not gold lucking like in the photo or a silver, hotel pub drinks not so amazing £6.90 for a pint of cider, ok rant over in a second you could make the room outstanding with not a lot of money like it should be if your paying for a wedding there
