The breakfast room toaster burned the toast, and set off the fire alarm. The chairs were dirty with food stains and could be more up-to-date. The coffee was warm and really could’ve used some thing like a Mr. coffee with a pot on the heater to keep it warm.

Breakfast was OK, not quite as good as expected

It was v. cold in our room, we mentioned it to staff but the radiator never came on during our stay.

Staff were lovely, and the building had a lot of charm.

Bathroom- shower was very difficult to operate and resulting flow of water was inadequate. No grab rails and no shower mat to prevent slipping. Wash basin was cracked.

    Liked the building and location

Although you realise quickly that this place is old, they obviously have now idea about maintenance, and repairs I've observed most repairs have been carried out by a monkey, very poor. MDF board repairs in the toilet, ill fitting and unpainted. Shower soap dispenser holders broken, and the gel just left on the side. This is not a cheap stay and attention to detail is shoddy. Food is not good, I tried two meals and then ate from the local chippy and Chinese, (excellent BTW) their refund policy in the resteraunt is very speedy which should give you an idea of quality. This is the very first feedback I have ever written on a place I've stayed.

After 3 weeks in differing rooms, I found room 20 to be the best. I tried to work a corporate deal with them for 6-16 months mon-sat, what a let down. When I spoke to the manager I explained the longevity of my stay and block book the same room, she tried, yet when it came to check out and rebook, no rooms. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME. This chain seems to have zilch customer care.

Very tired decor and fittings, in general the whole place needs money spending on it. The staff are trying their best to provide a pleasant stay but the customer will always remember the threadbare carpets, flaking paint, rusty bathroom fittings and worn out fixtures and fittings. We knew what to expect when we booked and because it was clean and smelled fresh accepted that for us it was convenient for our purpose of visiting some relatives over the weekend.

It was clean and functional and the majority of the staff were very pleasant and chatty. It was reasonable value for money being cheaper than most other places in the area.

In need of some TLC in places. Bathroom was looking particularly tired and some of the maintenance had definitely been done on the cheap. Headboard on bed had patches that had worn away from people resting their heads on it which did not look terribly hygienic.

Good location in centre of Coggleshall. Pleasant staff. Allowed dogs. Cost of room was very reasonable.

The hotel could do with abit of TLC. They could do with a plumber to fix a couple of taps. Also I think they should have a couple of bar stools to give that area a warmer feel around the bar. Though I have to say the staff were great.

The staff were excellent and very helpful. Both the breakfast and evening meals were very nice. The room was very clean and I slept well.

When we arrived on the Friday evening. We were not happy with the lack of heating within in Our Room. One of the staff moved our Room. Sadly we remained without heating for the duration of our stay. Only on the morning of our departure did the heating come through. This was made possible by Harriet.

This was the 3rd time we have stayed at the White Hart. The Staff were very pleasant. The Sorrundings were clean. The food was average.

A charming building dating back to the 15th century , well preserved . We were recieved a warm welcome to this well preserved historical venue. Our room was appropriately furnished complete with ensuite bathroom and toilet .Parking on site was free. The restaurant was large and airy, spoilt only on this occasion by some noisy less disciplined youngsters , but it's hard to criticise a venue by the shortcomings of modern parentage . Breakfast the following morning was very good (and no noisy patrons ). We would be pleased to return .

The room was overpriced in my opinion especially as it did not include a breakfast. Had to pay an extra £12 for it, although it was very good. Should be included.

Unfortunately the boiler was in need of repair and we had no hot water. We were offered another, superior , room, however no hot water there either. We were given a free breakfast to compensate, and we’re waiting to hear about a reduction on the room rate.
