The only downside is the hotel has no parking , you have to park up the hill although the car park itself was very reasonable.

Very central with shops and eateries within 5 mins. Easy access to the beach and walks. Staff were friendly and helpful with an exceptional variety at breakfast.

Rooms were excellent, although there was no en suite for our friends, also as my husband and I are a bit on the larger side the double bed was a bit small for us.

Our room was just enough for what we needed. Nice and clean. The breakfast was very good with enough choice to vary it day to day. The sitting room was very comfortable and the staff were very helpful and polite. Can't wait to come back for another stay.

There wasn't really anything I didn't like, I guess it was just a shame we had to go home at the end of our stay! If I had to mention the only negative it wasn't actually from the hotel itself, but the fact that the local eateries only seemed to open mid week/Thursdays onwards, but again, this is not a fault of the hotel!

Loved the view and the warm welcome, especially from the dog who was almost always there waiting for a quick catch up. Location placement was great - you literally had the train station just round the corner (but never heard a thing unless you were outside!) You also practically stepped straight out onto the promenade, which was great. The best part of the stay were the beds - I have never slept so comfortably!

Excellent breakfast. Very helpful and welcoming staff. Very comfortable room & en-suit bathroom. Situated right on the sea front in a prominent position for walks & beach fun.

Sandy the proprietor met us and gave a warm welcome. The room was very clean, comfortable and with a sea view. The breakfast was amazing, so well cooked and quick to come out. We loved our walks along the seafront before breakfast and again in the evening. Parking at the front was fine, we were able to park from 6pm until 9am free each evening. We will definitely be staying again.

If I was being overly critical, we had to wait a little while before anyone met us to check in, despite agreeing an early check-in time. However, this was completely eradicated by the lovely welcome we were given and helpful staff. We were also early, so having to wait was not a problem. We were greeted by the very friendly Bo the dog, who welcomed us with sniffs!

We had an incredible weekend staying at the Thornhill, greeted by friendly, helpful staff who offered to carry our bags to our room. We were allowed to check in slightly early as we had travelled a long distance and had left early to beat any bank holiday traffic. Albeit small, the room was very clean and offered everything we needed the bed was comfy and the bathroom facilities very good. For a small B&B, breakfast was amazing, superb service, lovely food and great variety. A superb weekend in which I proposed to my now fiancé, a weekend we will never forget!
