Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

No complaints at all, even the weather was sunny and hot.
Breakfast was excellent cooked fresh on a quality laid table, the location is ideal only a few 5 minute walk to the city centre, and even less to the beach. The hosts Liz and Paul were both friendly and helpful and we’re hard working to ensure you enjoyed your stay at the Trelawney Guest house.

well cared for property so well cared for guests! we had a twin room which was well decorated and had all that we could need. Dining room was spacious and scrupulously clean Easy access to property and rooms due to key system used.

We loved trelawney hotel , its everything you need, liz and paul were amazing hosts. Very welcoming , friendly, professional . The hotel is beautiful ,clean and very well kept. They both work very hard. Beautiful garden with pretty flowers and benches . Bar and lounge Clean , Cosy rooms with en suites. Kettle, coffee/teas with beautiful chocolate and orange biscuits. Hair dryer Toiletries and towels provided Fridge and fans T.v had access to Netflix/YouTube and other channels. FREE WiFi Its just minutes from the beach ,arcades , restaurants and shopping centres , bars, parks and mini golf and many other fun things to do. All at a great price, we will definitely be visiting again :)

We loved everything about our stay from the beautiful garden area to the wonderful rooms. Every comfort had been taken care of, such lovely and thoughtful hosts, we will definitely be returning. The breakfast which was incredibly included in the very reasonable price was amazing along with the coffee!

Liz and Paul were lovely host. They were friendly and offered lots of information about what Torquay had to offer so we could get the best out of our stay. The room was clean and spacious. The hotel was within close proximity to the beach and town centre.

Pillows a little firm for our liking, very little natural light in the room as window very small & narrow.
Good location with parking. Breakfast good, well presented & hot with quality ingredients & a good selection of cereals, fruit etc available. Room spacious, very clean, comfortable bed & very good shower.

Everything was perfect can't find anything negative to say
Liz and Paul welcomed you with open arms, nothing to much trouble for them. Liz took our cases to our room. Room was excellent clean, cosy and warm, had coffee and tea making facilities bottles of water. Bottom of wardrobe was a fan and a mini fridge nice touch, bathroom was spacious with complimentary shampoo and shower gel along with soap. Bed was lovely and comfortable 😌. Breakfast was plentiful from toast cereal tea coffee juices water biscuits to follow with a full English breakfast. Another nice touch was the bar. All I all we had a wonderful stay and would recommend and definitely be returning. Thank you Liz and Paul Love Sharon and Jason

We booked late and didn’t think to ask where our room would be and it was at the top of the house . A lot of stairs are not a problem if you are young but we are not !! It did not spoil our stay as we were grateful for the stools placed strategically on the landings for a little rest ! Liz very kindly said if we came again we could ask for a lower room and it certainly would not put us off staying the Trelawny
Trelawny Hotel is immaculately presented and we were warmly welcomed by Liz . Our room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfasts cooked by Paul were lovely with plenty of choice for every taste including fresh fruit , yoghurts and cereals
