Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomUnfortunately the wifi didn’t work for the first night and day we stayed but this is stated in the welcome booklet that the wifi won’t always be very strong however it didn’t ruin our stay as we had brought games to play anyway. The kettle did have a build-up of limescale so we just heated water in the microwave when we fancied a hot drink.
Wonderful little cottage in a brilliant location! close to bourton on the water which was lovely to walk around and some wonderful pubs to visit just behind the cottage on the high street. Lovely and clean and such comfy sofas! A tv in every room was a bonus and VERY comfortable beds! I would gladly stay here again such a cosy place which felt very homely!

United KingdomA few fluffy blankets for the lounge (even with the fire/heating it was still quite cold), the cottage also lacked a good chopping board (standard size) as we cooked both evenings so had to use a tiny one! Also, the smoke alarm battery alarm went off all night on our second night outside the bedrooms - this kept us all awake as we weren't able to disable/disconnect which was frustrating.
Walnut Cottage is a stunning, luxury, cosy cottage centrally located in Moreton in Marsh. We loved the log fire, lovely decor, furnishings, comfy beds and courtyard garden. Perfect for a couple or small family - note the staircase is steep and narrow.

United KingdomNothing bad to say we would definitely book again
The property was spacious well kept and the team super helpful with great communication before and during our stay. The little touches like local produce set out for us on arrival, logs piled by the fire, a fully stocked kitchen with everything you could possibly need and the high chair and cot being set up ready for our infant.

United States of AmericaBed sheets were clean, but had small stains on them. Also, the area behind the back patio still had lots of trash and recycling left in it, so it was a bit smelly. There were also no instructions for checking out, which would have been helpful.
Space was comfy and well furnished. Nice kitchen and complimentary food items. Had everything we needed to cook. It was so nice to have a working fireplace and firewood provided. The back patio as beautiful as well. Beds were very nice. Location was also amazing.

Entire cottage was well appointed and very comfortable. Beds were excellent. Kitchen is new and had everything one would want. So nice to have a basket of breakfast items, sweets and a bottle of Prosecco! Also milk in the fridge. Close proximity to the High street but set back and quiet. Beautiful garden area in the back.

United KingdomThe lights in the kitchen were very dim and the living room / kitchen just needed a refresh / lick of paint but this didn't effect our stay.

United States of AmericaEverything was wonderful! We had no complaints! Just be aware that if you have mobility issues, the house has 3 floors, and the spiral staircase is very steep.
It was the perfect quaint Cotswolds cottage! We had the entire house. The host was friendly and left a basket of treats. The location was close to everything. We were allowed to use to fireplace. There is a cute, flower filled patio behind the house. It is set behind the historical Bell pub.

United States of AmericaAs mentioned in other reviews the stairs are quite steep and narrow. My older mother was not able to get her suitcase up to the bedroom by herself. (I helped!) Probably not a good property for someone older or with mobility issues. It would be nice to have a luggage rack or bench in the 2nd floor bedroom for organizing suitcases.
This was such an adorable cottage! Everything was very nice and the beds were so comfortable. The cottage is just around the corner from High Street which has restaurants and shops. The owners really put lots of attention to detail into everything, such as providing complimentary coffee, tea and milk! We had a car rental and this location was very easy for us to drive out to see other villages each day.
