Breakfast was very good and the staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough to help us. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Had dinner one evening in the restaurant and had the fishcakes which were delicious. If we were in the area again wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

There was nothing we didn't like but perhaps would have been nice to have a lounge for residents to relax before going to the restaurant.

The hotel was very clean rooms spotless,the staff were attentive and friendly and the food was excellent and good value. The location was quiet and we had a really good night's sleep . We will stay here again.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the bar area was inviting and comfortable and the rooms were very clean We had dinner in the restaurant, the food choices on the menu were excellent, it was well presented and the staff were brilliant. The breakfast was very good.

We booked a table in the restaurant for our first night but this had been given to another couple. We had to wait half an hour before we were seated.

Breakfast… Not a lot of choice… menu themselves grabby…. Juice sitting on table no choice….. toast delivered too early…. Bacon tough, sausages rubbery, Fried slice you needed a chisel.. everything seemed to be of poor quality…. Such a let down as the evening meal was lovely….

Service in the restaurant at both dinner and breakfast was extremely slow, despite there being only 2 tables in. The staff were very friendly and polite so this is not a personal criticism of them, but would maybe benefit from a bit of extra training or improved processes (coffee with no offer of milk, toast with no offer of butter or anything else etc) we had to ask for everything, and they did oblige with a smile, and they did apologise each time, but it basically meant we were waiting around a fair bit when the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. They also seemed a little flustered when asked for a vegetarian breakfast (even though it’s on the menu). Not a bad experience but room for improvement I guess as it’s the only thing that let the stay down. I would stay again!

Cannot fault the location, and the cleanliness. The building is lovely, well decorated and immaculate. All facilities in room - hair dryer, iron, extra pillows, fan, kettle etc etc. Peaceful spot but only a short drive to plenty of restaurants, cafes, museums etc. We had a breakfast on our last day at the lovely Veras tearoom at the farm shop next door, highly recommend.

Interesting old property, full of nooks and crannies. Decor looks cosy and welcoming. Bedroom was spacious with a well appointed bathroom and nice view of a river. Staff were all friendly and helpful and food was excellent. Karen was very knowledgeable and made great toast!
