Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Poland- No shops / stores nearby (30min travel on foot) - if you travel by car, be careful when using Google Maps (it can suggest a route to hotel through very poor country road).
- Space (garden, car park, room, swimming pool, facilities, etc.)

United KingdomThe room was very small for two and so was the bathroom. It had just a toilet and shower and you had to go out of it to use the sink in the bedroom. The evening meal was delicious but be warned too many courses could lead to an uncomfortable night's sleep.
The location and hosts were wonderful. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were attentive and helpful. Very clean hotel and nice gardens with a swimming pool too. Great cooked breakfast, lunches and elaborate evening meals. Super sea views of Porth beach from the car park with good parking. Loved the walks along the hill paths and down to Porth Beach. Also lots of areas nearby to go to most only half an hour away. Visited Newquay, Wadebridge, Castletown, St. Austell, Padstow, Port Isaac, Cornwall Gold, Trerice House and Pencarrow House and Gardens. Lovely stay. Comfortable bed and lounge areas, pleasing bar and company. Many people keep returning here year after year. I can see why.

United KingdomBeing an older building, you could hear some noises coming from corridors or water running, but nothing too extreme.
The hosts and all the staff provide a very familiar and kind atmosphere. The spaces were very clean and comfortable. All the meals were delicious and carefully thought and prepared. They would remember your choices and make sure your special requests would be accounted for. Wonderful views, easy access to pretty beaches and hotel own pool.

United KingdomThe only draw back that the busses stop running after 6pm so if you are out at other towns it's hard to get back to the hotel unless you walk or get a taxi the busses run late to other parts of county but not porth or the other places past porth
The hotel was clean and spacious with free parking which is better than having to try and find somewhere to park like most other hotels

United KingdomCar park safety barriers.... Parked cars on roadway near entrance causing blind spots pulling out...!! Lack of a fan in hot weather.. .
Location is nice overlooking Porth beach, although the car park entrance is interesting..... Quaint room, however my wish as with many hotels, is that there is never a small fridge in room.....

The Htl was a perfect family run establishment which made me think of my childhood. We always stayed in top end hotels and the Whipsiderry brought back lots of very positive memories. The hotel presents as a friendly hug and makes you feel right at home. The owners are meticulous in remembering guests names, the waiting on staff are polite and friendly and the room cleaners are lovely!! Despite the fact that I have travelled the world & most of the UK, this as my first solo ‘hotel stay’ alone. I would ddgibetly gone back here!! An old world but modern, hidden gem xx

United KingdomA minor point but the bathroom was rather small. It felt cramped and lacked sufficient shelf space.
The proprietor & staff engendered a very friendly atmosphere. Food was good, varied & imaginative. It all made for a very relaxing time. Many of the guests we met had been before and we are likely to return as well.
