Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Czech RepublicIt is a pity that it was not possible to buy any food or refreshments at the place of accommodation. We would certainly welcome this possibility
Very pleasant and helpful staff. The accommodation was in quiet place among olive trees with a wonderful view of the sea and the mountains. There was a large and clean swimming pool, which we used daily.

LithuaniaMattress was uncomfortable. AC unit was in the kitchen, but cool air does reach the bedroom. No tea, coffee, sugar, salt or pepper in the kichen. Not even a bottle of water in the fridge, which was really disappointing for us arriving late and tired. Closest shop is a 5 min drive (or a 30 min walk) away. I wish they charged 5 euros extra per room and just stocked it with the basics. It's annoying having to buy a whole pack of coffee and sugar for a 4-night stay. Front door didn't shut properly unless locked.
The vine-covered balcony was amazing. The whole hotel looked stunning from the outside and had a great sea view cause it was fairly high up. Clean, large room and bathroom, if slightly dated. Large pool, plently of sunbeds, never crowded. A peaceful place to just chill and relax. Shaded car port available. Agia Pelagia is a 30-40 min walk away (downhill), which may seem like much but was entirely doable, especially in the evening when it's cooler. We even walked back uphill twice during our stay.

United KingdomIt's missing a trick! Breakfast and a coffee bar or snack bar and occasional traditional evening would have made this place perfect. I understand its a quiet resort but in my opinion, being able to buy a coffee or fruit smoothie wouldn't have changed the overall ambience. Unfortunately there are no tavernas close enough without it being a bit of a walk to the beach or a bit further up the hill. The best supermarket is also too far to walk to. The only negative is that its almost too remote - small children would struggle with the hill, we are regular runners and I struggled with the hill coming back. Not that it bothered me but there were no TV channels, just radio.
Staff were fantastic, friendly and unobtrusive. Our room was in the old traditional style, the AC was very welcome! It was very clean and simple but had everything we needed. The WiFi was great. The location was ok. We are fit but you do need a car. The walk to and from the beach is manageable but steep on the way back! The closest beach was great, with a shingle beach, crystal clear water, parasols and a couple of tavernas. Highly recommend Taverna Vassilis.

PolandIt is far from beaches and restaurants, you have to walk 15 minutes in the heat to get there if you don't have a car. Also it would be very nice if there was an option to eat breakfast
Everything was good: Clean pool, courteous and friendly staff, nice apartment, very quiet and beautiful

We had a very nice stay at Ambelos. It is situated very nice. The Appartements are very clean and the staff is very friendly. The pool and the peace and quiet are exceptional. You will need a car to discover Crete. We loved it! Hope to come here again! Thank you Andreas for the very relaxing stay and late checkout!

United KingdomI am not too used to electric hobs, but I managed. Wi-fi is not password-protected so connecting to your bank is potentially risky. Connection tended to drop sometimes (seemingly, due to DNS problems) but would come back soon.
One of the most pleasant places I have been to. Cosy 2-storey houses in an olive grove on a hill slope, 4 apartments per house. It's quiet, very green, you hardly see your neighbours. There's a swimming pool, plenty of parking spaces. Staff were super-friendly and helpful. Another guest who I met there and who didn't have a car was taken by one of the staff to a nearby supermarket to buy some groceries, and then driven back. For free. The houses are concrete and very cool inside (notwithstanding A/C). The scenery is amazing. Two nearest beaches are 5 and 10 minutes' drive, respectively, parking never a problem (it was low season, though).

SerbiaWhat a beautiful Ambelos complex. surrounded by vineyards, gardens and animals. The host Andreas is very kind and flexible person. He helped us in everything and to rent car at good price. Andreas is everywhere in complex:) The accommodation is located 5 min drive to the beach. In general , if you go to Crete on vacation, you need car , you need to visit all the beautiful places. ( if you are going to Balos, it is better to go by boat, trust me!) The apartment is traditionally furnished with modern tastes. Our apartment had a sea view so that the morning coffee was with beautiful view and enjoyment.

AustraliaI would have liked a washing machine and bigger kitchen. You needed a car to get to beaches and restaurants.
I liked the rustic look and beautiful location. It is set high above the sea amongst an olive orchard. The staff was excellent. I don't know the caretaker's name but he was so kind and friiendly. The beaches nearby are spectacular. Very good restaurants of varying prices nearby too.

IsraelWas a bit of a mistake from our point but it's not the most optimal place to travel if you're not planning to get a car or use taxis. The walks are a bit far to the beach, restaurants and super markers.
The staff were amazing, extremely friendly and helpful with any question we had. The place itself was so beautiful, well kept, and everything was very clean which was the most important aspect for us! The pool was a great addition, also very clean and well kept.

Netherlands1. You ABSOLUTELY need a rental car if you want to survive! 😂 everything is too far away and going up and down! Rent a car at Motor Sun! They are located near Ambelos and are super friendly! 2. It’s not easy to cook in the apartment. The kitchen is basically equipped. But it work to prepare healthy salads!!!
I don’t know where to start… It started with a fast response from the owner (Andreas 1) when I emailed them that my back got injured shortly prior to arrival at Ambelos. Andreas took it extremely seriously and gave me the opportunity to choose between two different apartments. Andreas is super friendly, involved in the business (though he isn’t on site) and kind. Then we met Andreas 2 😁, the manager on site. Super friendly, respectful and professional man who welcomed us upon arrival. He and his team and family do a wonderful job at Ambelos! Bd then we discovered the site… and that was truly something! Ambelos has been my therapy. I left Agia Pelagia without any back pain! The calmness, the amazing view from our balcony, the peace at Ambelos and the fantastic swimming pool have done miracles to me!!! Last but not least: Charlito! We were welcomed by this beautiful 6 months old cat 🐈⬛ and fell in love! 🥰 I could tell you so much more about the surroundings, the village, the people, but you’ll get tired of reading 😂 just go and see/discover for yourself! 😊 you won’t regret!!!
