Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Fantastic location in the centre of town but still quiet, 1 minute walk to both beaches, bars/restaurants and bakery, lovely balcony, very comfortable bed, easy parking and access to the room, loved the homemade biscuits , thank you!

The balcony. We stayed 2 more days after this reservation, but picked a hotel right on the beach with seaview balcony. This was at start of season so easy to do, cost more too.
This is a lovely beach town, the property is located by the sandy beach and close the restaurants around the corner. The balcony was nice to sit and have coffee but just faces another building.

Very thin walls, you could hear the neighbours and water pipes noise so not great for light sleepers. The balcony was very close to the next building.
Good location, walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The apartment was spacious and clean. The coffee machine& pods, raki, homemade biscuits and jam were very nice additions.

Everything was great. The parking space outside is a little tight so be careful.
Very clean and modern apartment complex close to the town centre and the beach. The apartment and the surrounding area is very clean, tidy and well maintained. The owner provided us with home made jam, biscuits,coffee, raki and dropped off a bowl of fresh figs which were delicious. A very good base in a pretty town.

Only thing we didn’t like was leaving!
Early access, friendly host, comfortable and spotless apartment. Very comfortable bed and a decent shower. Also, generous balcony with seating and drying rack

No sea view but we knew that. Location very central and near the main beach. Lady organising the accommodation was very pleasant and helpful.

Amazing apartment in a quiet beautiful village. Nice stylish and good equipped appartement with attention to detail. Perfect daily cleaning. Nice accomodating host. Nice view ( to a neighboring garden and quiet street ), spacious balcony, amazingly comfortable bed. The beach is very near as well as supermarkets and bakery. It was one of the best accomodations during my stays in Greece. I recommend staying here. Thanks for nice stay.

Absolutely amazing apartment very well located in Paleochora. Very close to the center, to the beach, to the supermarket and to the bakery. The owner did everything to make us feel at home. Thank you very much and we recommend to everyone.

Taller people may have some difficulties with the bathroom installations.
We received a warm welcome from Arxontissa with homemade orange glyko, raki and sesame cookies. The apartment was spacious, and kept flawlessly clean; all equipment was useful and in good condition. The west beach of Paleochora is only 150m away, ideal for a morning swim.

The building itself is not very soundproof, you can potentially hear the rattle from the adjacent rooms if neighbours act noisily.
Clean, spacious, nice decoration, excellent location, functional wifi. Overall very good quality.

Very nice, clean apartments in the center of the city. 3 minutes from the sandy beach, close to restaurants and a supermarket. Very hospitable hostess. Perfect for a couple.

Sofa was hard and not comfortable. The security lights and tv lights made sleep difficult. No plug in bathroom sink was annoying. Art on walls was dark, depressing and very amateurish. Not right at all for a holiday apartment.
Comfortable bed. Clean room. Good coffee. Biscuits, homemade jam, marmalade and raki left by host was nice touch. Two small bottles of water in fridge was handy.

I am not a fan of Airbnb. I wasn't aware this was such.
It was clean and the balcony was large. Room was comfortable and access to downtown tavernas and shops was very good.
