Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

RomaniaNot something specific, just not what I expected for the price paid, food, service and conditions are average at best. Hotel rooms, especially bathrooms could really use a renovation. Did not expect to find mold at such a hotel.. Quite noisy room service every morning, always would ignore DND signs. Doors being slammed and not well soundproofed. Hotel room door opened or close is pretty much the same...
One of the best hotel views in Zakynthos, it's positioned quite high and you can see the port and town.

United KingdomWhen booking, we did make a special request for a sea view, only if it were possible. We were delighted to receive an email confirming our request at no extra charge! Unfortunately, this was refused on arrival.
Great swimming pool and patio area with a fantastic views across the bay. Outside eating at the restaurant also has great views. Hotel building itself is imposing, well maintained and attractive with useful car park. Friendly staff.

United KingdomLack of facilities, there’s a main swimming pool, again with amazing views, a bar and buffet area for breakfast ‘ food. And also a new snack menu this year. No other facilities, looks like a tennis court was there (about 20 years go) as it’s not even got a net and it’s not even close to a flat surface.
We were fortunate to have the suite with the swim up pool which was amazing with amazing views, especially at night.

United KingdomDespite the fact that Greece is so well known for its excellent food the breakfast featured very little fresh fruit (one bowl of tinned peaches) or vegetables and the pastries were a bit soggy. There is no beach at Zakynthos only a concrete deck with access to the sea
The position over looking the harbour was great. I upgraded our room for a better view and it was well worth it. Watching the activity in the harbour from the balcony was very relaxing. The free shuttle bus to the town and airport is great. Thus said it’s an easy walk to the town

United KingdomThe only part of my stay that I think could have been somewhat better. The breakfast was adequate, but I think improvement in this would make a huge difference. More fresh fruit and pressed juices would be really appreciated as well as muesli and varied fresh bread options etc. Along with better coffee from a more modern machine. Additionally the eggs were tough to eat.
All the hotel staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Including the lady at reception, the team in the breakfast area, the cleaners to the shuttle bus driver. Nothing is too much trouble. My room was clean, well lit and large, with an outstanding view of the sea and mountains around Zakynthos town. The communal areas of the hotel are really clean and there is a very informal / relaxed feel to the place. The hotel pool and the view of Zakynthos town / bay is amazing. Especially at night. I would consider the location to be a positive, but there is a good 20 minute brisk walk to the town. It's uphill on the way back, so this won't be suitable for all. However they do have a shuttle bus or taxis are available. The hotel shuttle bus is extremely useful and the driver is friendly and efficient.

United States of AmericaMore free water could have been provided to the room.
Excellent buffet breakfast with a lot of options. The swimming pool is large and has excellent views. We could see the sunrise from the room's balcony. The receptionist was extremely cordial and efficient in managing our rides from the ferry port and to the airport. She also provided a lot of assistance and information about exploring the island. The location is also great. Zante town is just 6 minutes ride via car.

United States of AmericaThe facilities were so-so, could definitely use updating. The breakfast had a large variety of food but was just ok. To get to town there was a hotel shuttle but it last ran at 6pm, so typically we had to get a taxi to and from town, about 10 euros each way. While the views were lovely, a location in town probably would be more convenient.
Lovely terrace for breakfast and gorgeous views from the pool area over the town. The front desk staff, Maria and Dimitris were absolutely wonderful and went out of their way to help us with our requests.

United KingdomThe hotel itself is very outdated, good food, but very repetitive and very limited choices. Had a curtain with a hole, it was replaced, and a broken shower had, also was replaced on request. 2 single beds instead of one double, and very uncomfortable mattress and pillows..
Amazing views from the top of the hill. 20 mins walk away from the town of Zakinthos. Bare in mind, you will need to walk uphill to the hotel. The hotel provides transport to the town and back 2 or 3 times a day, and to the beach 2 times a day. Free transport to the airport was a nice surprise. There was a Very helpful receptionist.

FranceWe only had the breakfast included and happy for it because the options were limited. Also it was not that tasty. Expect for our suite the hotel itself was not worth the stay for its price. But the view was amazinggggg

BulgariaA neat hotel with a great location, the hotel staff and policy should work hard for the peace and relaxation of all their guests. I say this because in the early afternoon on one of the days of our stay, we were pelted with ice cubes (3-4cm) on the balcony of our room by other apparently inebriated hotel guests. After our complaint at the reception, nothing followed, apparently the tolerance of this hotel has a rather high upper limit, so if other guests hit you with various objects, this is ok for the hotel. If you agree with the above, don't hesitate to book the hotel, the location is perfect.

RomaniaThe breakfast is the same every morning. Eggs are like plastic. The food at the breakfast and dinner is not good at all, full of oil and hard at stomach. Also, the bathroom was a little dirty (door, sink).
I liked very much the view and the pool. Also the staff is very friendly, really appreciate it. Also I liked the greek night, with the greek singer and dancers.

United States of AmericaThe mattress was a bit hard, for me. the bathroom had a few issues with the shower head and the fan was very loud. The room was a bit small but manageable.
Upon arrival we were a little disappointed in our room size and mattress comfort, however the view from the patio was wonderful and in the end the room was sufficient. The breakfast was good, lunch/snacks nice and the staff was great. The location of the hotel was perfect. It would have been nice to have more frequent transportation into and back from town. Overall great place that I would highly recommend and hope to get back to soon.

Location is perfect 15 min walk until the centre of Zante The bathroom is very old and wery dirty. The view from the room was great we had a double room with seaview. Our room was not cleaned every day When I request some towels the cleaning woman told me that they don't have In the room under the bed was a lot of dust On the balcony some splits window where missing some who stay near you he can watch you. The pool from the hotel it's really nice. If you stay at Avalon Hotel I recommend you to rent a car or a scooter. In my point of view at this money you can find something else
