Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThere wasn’t a door that separated the bedroom from the bathroom. If there was just a couple in the room it wouldn’t be a big deal. However with 2 teenagers, they want their privacy when using the bathroom.
This hotel was ideal. The room was superb. The staff was very friendly and provided us with top notch dinner recommendations. We had an amazing view of the water. Our family of four had enough room too. I really liked their shower and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel was centrally located in Old Chania.

GreeceThe room was spacious and in classic Venetian style with an amazing view of the old harbor and lighthouse from the terrace. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. We were late to arrive, well after reception was closed, and yet we were greeted at reception as if nothing was wrong. A fine continental breakfast was included which can enjoyed on the front patio of the hotel or in the room. The hotel is located in the charming city of Chania with its many alleys that include shops and wonderful places to partake in food and beverages. We rented a car and travelled to the many beaches and other areas and visited many traditional tavernas. Traveling TIP: The Hotel is located in Chania where cars are restricted, so you cannot drive up to the hotel. You can park at Talos Square, from there it's a 10-15 minute walk by the harbor's edge or the alleys of the town. Do not be like me when you can't figure how to drive up to the hotel and tell your friend, "There was something about parking in the e-mail they sent." Read the e-mail. Have great stay, We certainly did!

AustraliaNeeded to close the balcony doors at night as it could be noisy. Also was not given water each day. These are such little things.
Our stay was great! The staff were very hospitable and friendly. Dora and Effie could not have been more helpful. Our room was amazing with a small balcony that overlooked the harbour.it was so relaxing having a drink in the evening and watching the world go by. The room was large and had the best shower. Breakfast was served in your room each morning and was slightly different each day and was all that we needed. Close to attractions, shopping and restaurants.

United States of AmericaNo parking or cars allowed anywhere near the hotel. No assistance from the hotel to get your luggage from the street parking are that is about 1/2 a kilometer away and difficult to obtain.
The room was beautiful with an amazing view of the Xania harbor from the balcony where I ate my breakfast. The hammam was wonderful.

United States of AmericaThe hotel is in a great location & our room had a view over the harbor. The room was very large with a small balcony . There is a small pool on the rooftop and a beautiful view at night. The breakfast is a very high quality buffet style with many local dishes you can sample. The buffet style makes it easy.

United KingdomThat we had not booked for one night.
This is a lovely little hotel and a great position. We had room 203 which had a fantastic terrace overlooking the port and although it was right above the bars and restaurants, we weren’t troubled by noise at all. The room and bed were a great size as was the shower. Breakfast was lovely and Effi on the front desk was charming. All in all a really lovely experience.

New ZealandThere are some things you need to be aware of so as not to be disappointed. In writing this I acknowledge these views seem to differ greatly from the overwhelming majority of reviews for this hotel. Parking is offsite which is not the hotels fault as there is no parking on site for any hotels in the old town vicinity, but know you've got at least a 300m minimum walk with your luggage. When you get there, they dont have a lift, so youve got a further 2 or 3 flights of steepish wooden stairs to negotiate with your 20kg suitcases. The keys/locks are an old fashion type so you cant lock the door to your room independently from the inside without a key. This means that if one of you needs to leave the hotel before staff arrive in the morning or after they leave at 9.30pm, then whoever remains in the room has to be either locked in or left asleep with the door unlocked as whoever is going out has to take the keys to lock and unlock the hotel front door. The beds have iron railed bed framing at both ends of the bed, and these have quite sharp/uncomfortable decorative iron ornamental features so if you're 188cm tall or above and bald, your head and feet can take quite a hammering if you move about in your sleep. Generally a nice enough stay but didnt think it was great value at €325 per night.
Fantastic location and large balcony, cant imagine there is a better room position anywhere in the old harbour area. Its a 12 out of 10 for location. Staff were generally helpful and friendly.
