Second floor apartment was more silent and comfortable, but that’s nitpicking.

The first and most important - here I’ve me the nicest staff ever (thank you Thea, Katerina and everyone). Rooms (Ive lived in 2) are nicer (renovated) than on photos. Food can be delivered to the beach or a room, very delicious grill food, and especially sea food. Few words the beach is a turtle beach, so we have seen a lot of new-born (dozen) turtles!

The hotel is set in a tranquil location and is run by an extremely friendly family. The Horizon Restaurant at the hotel serves simple, genuine food all day. Enjoyed the quiet dinners there by the sea.

I didn’t like leaving this place.

If you are looking for one of those small and cosy hotels right on the beach a bit outside of the city, where the staff is more like a family, you don't have to compete with other guests about reserving a sunbed with towel, have real orange juice at breakfast - this is it. We had a really nice 2-week long holiday with our family and had the best time. It is also worth mentioning, that the food tastes so good! Besides the menu they have a daily special and we didn't have anything that we didn't love.

The pool could be a bit warmer, the shower pressure is pretty low.

Right on a nice beach, had a rooftop terrace which is very spacious and had some cover for shade, so actually usable. Amazing dinning area with a sea view.

Perfect place to relax on the quiet beach. Lovely staff makes you feel super welcome to the hotel. Breakfast buffet every morning by the swimming pool. It was lovely to have free sunbeds on the beach and good swimming pool for cooling down. Supermarkets not far from the hotel. Good air conditioning in the room and nice patio. Laundry service for 10€ was very nice to have. They serve homemade Greek food every night, you have to try it! Love this place and will return again!

I don't know how someone could improve something I found to be perfect.

The property is just on the beach, perfect location: quiet, wide beach, perfect water, not crowded, just what I was looking for! All rooms and apartments have private bathrooms. The meals was all one could ask for: breakfast, lunch and dinner were just perfect. Amicably personnel, both cleaning and serving. When I'll go to Crete again, I will for sure go back to Carreta Hotel.

Sunbeds are paid. there is no restricted area for swimming in the sea.

Thea - manager of the hotel is real star and could help you with anything - car rental, post office, restaurants breakfasts are rather for non vegans or vegetarians - although there was some food for them (tomatos, cucambers, cheese) Rooms are ceaned daily.

Beaches of Gerani and nearby are bad, full of rocks and no sand. also huge waves and wind, 6/6 days red flag. glad they had pool. you can take public transport or rent a car to beaches from South of Crete, they are better. food is great, people are even better but beaches 0.

First of all, the service and friendliness the staff showed was the best. So helpful and kind! They offered housekeeping every day if you wanted. Breakfast was very good, lots of homemade things and very varied! Furthermore, an amazing location literally almost ON the beach! Beautiful pool, restaurant/breakfast area with full seaviews, and great apartments! Beautiful beach, mostly sandy, with pebbles in the first few metres going into the sea. Watershoes is very handy ;-). Some days the waves were quite high, lot of fun for kids who can swim. The area is quiet, wich we loved! But enough restaurants, shops and atm's around, and more busy places are closeby in Plantanias and Chania. Fully recommended, would definitely go back!!

Nothing everything was perfect for us!

All the staff was really kind, they will make you feel at home. The food was handmade the quality was great. The service perfect The place was not crowdy during the second week of June and the beach as well. Great dinner in front of the beach with the sunset view.

the structure is comfortable and in front of the sea, here you can find whatever you need, restaurant bar, beach with sun bed and umbrellas and the swimming pool. the staff is the best! all of them are so kind and friendly to give you the best vacation! also the position is good to reach some other restaurant and the Main Street. the bed are comfortable and the windows had also the mosquito net!

Caretta Beach definitely exceeded our expectations. The apartment hotel had the nicest staff, so friendly and helpful, they really made us feel at home. The apartment itself was clean and spacious, and surprisingly cool, also without air condition (we lived in the first floor). The area is really quiet, which is nice. Breakfast was also nice. Good value for money.
