Though the hotel is by seaside, the distance to the beaches is a few hundred meters. This was not a problem to me, since I knew it beforehand.

The hotel is new, and in a very good condition. Since I travel by car, parking in front of the hotel was a must. Connected to the hotel is cafe bar Cactus, where I had a very good breakfast for 8 euros.

The views from the apartments are wonderful, and the location is very convenient for getting in to Kalyves and around the surrounding resorts. There was a warm welcome on arrival, and the staff were helpful and friendly.

We could not get the shower to work and the water coming out of it was boiling hot.

The host was especially welcoming. He went out of his way to get us something to eat at 10pm. The season had not started yet so limited availability. He explained everything patiently and thoroughly. The property was as described and very clean.

I liked everything.

The hosts were super nice, always available and helpful, very responsive. We received a higher standard room than the one we booked, not sure of the reason, maybe because we visited in the second half of October, so the season has been closing up, not so many people in the hotel, but it was a really nice surprise. The apartment was fresh, bright, very clean, well furnished, kitchen equipment complete, we could find there anything that we needed. The hotel is surrounded by a garden, the view from the window was beautiful, we regretted not being able to stay longer. We visited 4 hotels on Crete, and this one was defintely the nicest, and the best quality for the price. There is a small restaurant just at the entrance to the hotel, which is an additional advantage.

The shower floor tended to "flood" a little but was manageable.

Very nice room with 2 Balconies with one overlooking the sea. Excellent location with a 15 minute walk to the village centre. Plenty of beaches nearby. Staff were exceptional particularly the cleaning lady who looked after our room with great care. Very nice restaurant/cafe "Cactus" downstairs. Mojitos were great! parking was good.

We had a great time here. Rooms were very comfortable - cleaning lady was amazing, we felt spoiled with her service ( the floors were cleaned everyday if needed). The view was great and the cafe place cactus was super convenient. Totally recomend staying here!

Everything was perfect. Very clean, nice room and extremely friendly owner. He was always there to help us and gave good advices. The food is also very nice there. We will definitely come again if we will visit Kreta again! Thank you for everything!

Nothing that is associated with the hotel directly, but there are some cars/scooters/bikes going crazy fast on the street which is adjacent to the hotel. That is sometimes a bit noisy.

Perfectly furnished little apartments. Very clean and very nice staff! Awesome seaside view and the cafe/restaurant is also great. You can walk to the nearby beaches.

Loved it all

We have had a wonderful week at Porto Kalyves. The apartments are spotless, very comfortable and with everything you need. The bathroom was very modern by Greek standards. We had a separate lounge / kitchen and balcony overlooking Souda Bay - fabulous. The walk into Kalyves is about 20 minutes all flat. The beautiful beach is 10 minutes walk. Free sun beds if you buy drinks which are reasonable prices. Supermarket and bus stop to Chania 7 mins, a couple of good tavernas about 5 mins. But the best bit is the fabulous staff and the bar where you can get a great breakfast (I recommend the energy boost bowl and omelette) as well as great pizzas steaks etc. in the evening. Special thanks to Panos and family, Christos, Stephanie, the lovely smiley cleaning lady and all the staff for making this a chilled week 😀

Great location to access bars, restaurants, Kalyves town and beaches..all walking distance...Hosts great and very helpful and available. Oh and a sea view, and a big supermarket! Lovely little restaurant next door, belonging to the hotel available 8am - 11pm.

We love the atmosphere in Kalyves and it is a great location for exploring as well as having very good local beaches, cafes and restaurants. Porto Kalyves apartments are in a great location for both sides of the village. All of the staff were very friendly and always helpful. The Cactus bar and restaurant attached is very good and makes the best cocktails!

A couple of minor things: Bathrooms could had been a bit bigger. It would be nice to have a door or a curtain for the shower cubicles to prevent the rest of the bathroon's floor from getting wet. It was rather hard to find a recycling bin for plastic and glass bottles.

The staff and management were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The location is superb with direct sea view, 5 minutes on foot to the local supermarket and almost direct access to the Kolatsos beach via a shortcut through the Kimata restaurant on the other side of the road. The on-site cafe, called Cactus, provides excellent hot and cold drinks. Food is superb, fresh and very well presented.

The hosts are exceptional people, they go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as humanly possible. The view is lovely, the Cactus restaurant is AMAZING, seriously good food and drinks. Parking is easy, right in front of the apartments, you have everything (shop, beach, restaurant, etc) nearby. The rooms are quiet and the AC works very well.
