As every review mentions, the host, Despina, along with her mother, take excellent care of you feeding you Greek & Cretan specialties, changing linen, or answering any questions you may have. The view of beach & sunset is incredible from the large balconies, fully functioning kitchen (use the timer on the stove), full window shutters for blackout sleep, and hot showers.. 👍🏽 well done to her father on construction of the building. Lastly, <5min drive to one of the nice beaches for sports/relaxing, Falassarana, and 1 hr in between both Elafonissi and Balos, two of the most famous beaches. You won’t be disappointed.

Everything was perfect! Just a warning to not trust Gmaps, and use instead the instructions provided by host Despina on how to drive there.

(+) Hospitality: The host Despina & her family are an asset of Cretan hospitality, making guests feel like they are part of their family. We felt warmth and genuine care which is rarely seen in other accomodations. (+) Location: Overseeing the see across fields of olive trees, with constant mountain breeze. Just a few minutes driving from Falasarna, our favourite beach in Crete. Nearby are some great taverns, and Kissamos town is also just 15 minutes away. Ideal location to spend vacations. (+) Facilities: The apartments are impecable. There is nothing missing, sparkling clean, sound-proof, and tastefully decorated. Feels like home.

Expect very dirty road, knobbly for about 100 m before you reach the appartment. But near the appartment the road is OK then.

Riza Falasarna is situated over the beach with beautiful view to olive groves and rocks by see. The best place for people loving more authenticity then tourism. By Despina you feel very comfortable. She offers even some home made Cretan food, very delicious. Every 2-3 days she cleans the rooms and gives you new towels and bed linen. In the kitchen we found even honey and coffee. And butter and fruits in the fridge. Comfortable beds. And you really feel you are welcome by Despina.

Only a minor thing is that the AC is not in the bedroom, but in the living room area, so it needs to cool down the whole house first.

Despina and Athena are incredibly good hosts. They are friendly and yet always gave us lots of space. They cooked and gave us the most delicious traditional Greek food! Our bellies miss it so much. Their recommendations were excellent. The apartment is spacious (it is bigger than it looks in the photos), the views are stellar, and Despina always kept it sparkling clean. We very much enjoyed being able to do laundry and hang out our clothes after a sandy day at the beach.

If you are looking for a real place for recovery and great hospitality, do not hesitate to book a stay at Riza. We've been visiting Greece for many years, couple or more times per year and this is one of the greatest holiday spots we've found so far. The accommodation is far from the noise and the crouds, very specious and actually it feels and looks better than the photos on the site. It is equipped with everything you might need. I mean really everything. The beautiful long beach of Falasarna is some minutes away via car. There is a well stocked super market and pharmacy in the nearest village of Platanos. The location is also convinient starting point for visiting the rest of the other famous beaches this side of the island. Last but not least, Kiria Despina and her mother will do their best to make your stay unforgettable. The homemade treats were great surprise and fantastically delicious. They are the greatest hosts you'll ever have and you'll never find such kindness, generosity and care if you stay at hotel. Thank you for everything!
