I found the bed a bit uncomfortable and the shower was not warm enough.

This is a mountain refuge and as such the location is very beautiful and quite. There is a restaurant that serves also warm coffee and local tea blends. You can also dine with simple and local meals. Our room had the essential and was overall fine. The location is perfect to reach the Samaria gorge and you can also hike in the area surrounding the hotel.

Staff is really extraordinarily friendly. Meals in the restaurant are good and come at good prices. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed. You can start many of the White Mountains hiking tours directly at the hotel.

The room and bathroom were a bit too small for 3 persons. On the other hand we only slept there. No kettle in the room.

Bathrooms could do with an upgrade.

Good location, warm welcome, and a nice room. We didn't like the first room offered, but then immediately got the free choice of another room (8 rooms in total). New room was at a corner, quiet, with a terasse and a nice view of the mountains. Room was basic, but clean. Dinner was good, owner very friendly, and we were offered free fruit, greek yoghurt and raki (liquor). Public car charger (for our electric car) was broken, thus we were allowed to charge our car for free with a cable through the window to the restaurant. Much appreciated.

Nice place, near to Samaria's gorges. The personnel is nice, the breakfast starts early if you want to go early to Samaria, the bedroom is okay and clean.

Very good restaurant. We ate mousaka and souvlaki and it was delicious. Hotel is 4 km far from the entrance of Samaria's gorge and is what you need to rest before and after the trek. The hosts are very welcoming. By far our best experience with Cretan hosts.

Nothing I did not like. The bathroom could have done with redecorating. But perfectly clean.

The location of the hotel is ideal if you want to trek the Samaria gorges. Just 4 km from the entrance, a few minutes by car. The owner was extremely helpful and pleasant. The dinner served was very god value for money and the dining room very cheery.

The area and the employees working there were lovely. The place is really great. Just comfier beds and a little more time spent on the facilities would go a long way to make this place the perfect rest for the weary traveler.

The location is far from city. But it is the ideal location if you want to go to the Samari george. We did not know this and thought we have booked the hotel near the city.

The food was super , organic and tasty. We tasted the local sheep meat, goat cheese, local alcohol. Bread was good. The restaurant is big and good for family too. Locality is good if you are here for hiking. they were flexible with our request like we could take spoons and plate to our room.

We understand the owner's perspective regardinghis business but i'm here to share the clients' point of view. On the day of our arrival the Samaria gorge was closed. This means we drove in vain to Omalos. When we arrived the owner told us this and since the surprise was mutual to all other guests (app 8 ppl) there could be some notification on the booking page as well. Other than that we wanted to get a good night sleepbut couldn't because the noise from the restaurant under our terrace went on late in the night.

Reading some of the Google reviews made me a bit nervous about staying here - but really, some of you just need to get out more. At this price point, I challenge you to find a better budget stay anywhere on the island. We actually really liked the "hard" beds as described by a few others - the firm mattresses gave us the best night's sleep in ages, so I guess that's a matter of preference. There may have been one tiny mould stain on the shower tiles, but overall the room was spotless, perfectly spacious for two people, and opened onto an agricultural/mountain view and the tinkling of goat bells. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful, and he happily drove us to the Samaria Gorge starting point in the morning. In a nutshell, this ticks the boxes for a hiking base or overnight stop, and we'd use it again when in the area.

No toilet seat or lid, black mould in the bathroom, heater didn’t work so had a portable heater (which did work) that took up room and you had to be careful not to burn yourself on. The bed was INCREDIBLY uncomfortable, lumpy and awful (we should have slept on our ultralight hiking mats). Sliding glass door didn’t lock so we had to pull the lightproof shutter over to secure the room and didn’t have natural light and we were in a windowless box if we wanted to secure the room. No globe in the light above one bed. Unfinished wiring tied off in a couple of places. By the time the water got hot in the shower you were standing in pool in the shower base a couple of inches deep. No facility to make yourself tea or coffee. I picked this place because of its rating and reviews and I truly cannot understand how it got them.

Location is very close to Samaria gorge (5 min by car) early breakfast possible, very cheap place and might be acceptable for ~ 35 Eur/night for the double room if only used for sleeping before /after the gorge hike, easy parking, fridge in the room

Great location for entering The White Mountains and especially great starting point if you want to do the Samaria Gorge (if you want to get there before the crowds). Great staff and very quite place. If we come back to Crete we'll stay again :)

We arrived late in the evening, tired and wanted to check in quickly. The host was occupied with the restaurant, we waited. Then he asked me to tell him the booking confirmation number, which never happened before. The room was okay with old furniture. The most disappointing thing was the squeaky bed because we had to go to the Samaria gorge in the morning.
