The family is super friendly and welcoming. We loved sharing their home cooked dinner and they were so helpful, they helped us rent a motorbike and arrange bus tickets.

Lovely family. They will do their best to help you with everything. You can join them for prayer before dinner which I quite enjoyed. Well educated girls! We enjoyed some local dancing together. The mattress is comfortable and it’s nice refreshing to sleep with a blanket again. The owner gave me his own scooter to move around (so I dropped him at work in the morning). Shows there welcoming hospitality again :) So if you really wanna be part in a local family that’s your place to go!

Wow! What an incredible experience with a *real* homestay. Magdalena and Hironymous and their children welcomed me into their home with open arms. I participated in their nightly prayer circle before dinner and a thoughtful conversation about the different ways of service in life. Magdalena speaks good English and understands even better. We were served a very filling local meal and ate with the family then shared stories of our lives after dinner. The room and bathroom were very clean and met my needs perfectly. The gardens around the home are very beautiful and well cared for. I highly recommend for a true experience with an Indonesian family!

To stay inside the family was a very beautiful experience in my life!! All the members of the family shared food with us, helped us in everything what we need. I was worried to drive the motorbike alone, then the owner of the house offered to me to drive me around, it was really very kind of them!! I will never forget the experience in the mountain!!

Incredible homestay with an absolutely beautiful family. They are the kindest, most generous family. Excellent value with all the meal inclusions and help they give you. We were given a tour of their local community and monastery and use of their motorbike, plus lots of tourist recommendations. All the home cooked food with the family was delicious. This is the best home stay. Highly recommend.

We had the ensuite room but there was no basin to wash your face or clean your teeth. There is no hot water but the host offered to boil some water for me to take a bath.

We had a great stay with a lovely family. It was such a great experience to see how families live in a different country. They accepted us into their home and we lived as one of them. Eating, playing cards, praying etc.

Carletas is a remarkable place. We stayed for two nights, wrapped in the warmth, honesty and generosity of this family and really felt like we were leaving family when we moved on. This is not like any other homestay I have ever been to. The house and facilities are very basic, the food is traditional and delicious and the family incredible. We will stay in touch.
