Oro Beach Houses is a piece of Paradise - beautiful, spacious and clean villas a stone throw from a gorgeous white sandy beach. The owner and the staff are super friendly, the food is wonderful and the setting is lovely. We stayed here at the end of a great week in Sumba. It was the best value accommodation we stayed in. It is close to the airport and very easy to find. Thoroughly recommend!!

The location is quite far from the city but if you have a scooter-that should not a problem. As this is a beach house, expect the ant colonies in your bathroom, crabs in the bedroom (not a problem for us though). Wifi could be better (only works in the reception area)

Breakfast was delicious and portions-huge. The owner extremely friendly. The location was near the ocean (so you have your access to the beach just within couple meters). Room big, bed comfortable.

We had an amazing stay. The family is so friendly, the food amazing and the area really nice. Big rooms with goos beds, cozy corners with sofas to relax and good WiFi. Newly installed. If you go to oro beach, stay here!

Had a great stay at Oro beach houses. Ended up extending our time by an extra two nights. There are two types of rooms available, Beach Villas which are two rooms next to each other and beach houses which are separate. The rate is roughly a 100k extra for the beach houses which is worth it for the extra space and privacy. Beach villa rooms have air conditioning for an extra charge, however when we visited in July we did not find it necessary. Every room comes with a fan and mosquito net (although when we visited at the beginning of August there were very few). An outside bathroom is attached to each room, with a cold shower. WiFi is not available in the rooms but available in the common areas. Telkomsel signal is also very weak. Breakfast, consisting of fruit and either banana pancakes or omelet, is included in the room rate. Additionally, dinner is available, the dishes available change daily and cost 85k per person. We ate there twice and the food was very good! Airport pick ups can be arranged for 150k. Scooter rental can also be sorted for 250k per day, which is expensive for Indonesia but typical for Sumba. The scooters we rented were very good quality and larger than your regular scooter (which is helpful as the roads in Sumba are not the best). Everyone was super friendly and helpful, especially Noni and Mario! They helped us sort a shared taxi to Waingapu (200k pp) Additionally Tours can be organised although we did not do any. Definitely recommend staying here!

It's far from the main road, or a town. No wifi in the room and no phone service. You have to be in the common area for internet. Not a big deal tho.

Beautiful beach and stunning sunset view. They have snorkeling equipment, a restobar. The staff here were friendly and helpful too.

The fact that we left after 4 nights. It was a hassle getting there from Waingabubak, they can arrange a private car to and from airport tambulaka. There is no public transport to oro houses.

It is een quiet piece of paradise. A bit secluded so if you want to see the surroundings you will need to rent a motorbike. The coast road to Waikuri beach is scenic and we saw just a few other cars/motors. Don't forget tot stop sometimes and look voor deserted beaches and kliffs. . The food and juices are delicious The beach is deserted and you can snorkel right from it at high tide.

Siska and her family are so lovely and welcoming. I loved every second of my 3 night stay!!!! The food was unreal and the whole place is so relaxing and very cute. Siska helped organise an amazing guide to show me around the West Side of Sumba. I miss Oro Beach House already.

Speechless!! From the start of our stay to the finish, Mario and Siska’s family were the most helpful, kind, caring family we have ever had!! Mario let us rent his bike (which I’m told is his pride and joy and by how well it drove and looked, I’m not surprised!!) If you’re looking at Oro, you HAVE to go there!!! Really quiet, peaceful beach that 90% of the time you have to yourself. Ask them for snorkels and they supply too!!

A great stay at Siska's guesthouse. Comfy bungalow in the midst of a beautiful garden (jungle). Amazing clean sandy beach without any crowds. Delicious home cooked meals for a good price. It felt like we were staying with a family. We were looked after so. well. Also Siska organised airport pick up and drop off as well as the the rent of the motorbike at reasonable prices. Even WiFi has been made available at this remote location. Highly recommended.

A homestay with an authentic family atmosphere. This is where the host, Siska, and her team make you feel at home and attend to your needs. As this accommodation is not a luxurious one, located in a poor area of Indonesia, you shouldn't expect the comfort of a modern town, but accept it as it is. The absence of a hot shower and the weak internet connection allow you to disconnect from urban negative energy and to get as close to nature as possible.

There was no running water, which for the price was very disappointing. The pump had broken and they were working at fixing it. Also they do not take advantage of being right on the beach, they should be seating areas overlooking the ocean with shade.

Oro beach House owned by Bu Sisca who is very friendly and sweet woman, Their staffs (Pak Rio, Pak & Bu Elsa, Pak Adi) are also friendly...Our stay feel like home.. We can experience like local in this place.. Truly an unique experience.. Bu Sisca cooked our dinner and breakfast with heart and the taste are super delicious! Oro Beach House location is super beautiful, Oro beach is so exotic with cliff and white sands beach..it's so quiet...just you and the nature...at night you can also see millions of stars! Will stay at Oro Beach House again for sure!

bathroom is outside, which might be fine for some, but it’s not stated in the hotel description. it was full of ants and small insects, which could be fine if you knew that before actually discovering it. Wi-Fi not working in the room, my 4g not working either.
