When we are in Surabaya, we like to try to stay in 4 or 5 stars hotels. So, this year, among the hotels we tried to stay, we reserved Tunjungan Hotel for 2 nights (27 - 29 dec.). The 1st night, we found that the duvet cover wasn't in good condition. Torn in some places. Also, duvet cover was not put correctly. The staff put the feet part in the head part. I asked to change our room. Receptioniste staff, was very nice, asked to the room service to change our duvet cover, because the hotel were full-booked, she couldn't give us another room. The day after, the room service staff made same mistake (feet part was in the head part). Our conclude that the room service staff didn't know how to put the duvet cover. It propably they were not trained well. So, finaly, we re-made it our self. Other thing is the hotel is an old hotel, we can smell it also in the corridor. The bathroom was clean, but it was seen old, too. There's no hair dryer. The lift sometimes didn't work well. We were in the 3th floor, but sometime, the lift didn't stop in the floor event we called. After 10 minutes waiting, we decided to take the stairs, and the stairs weren't clean, looked like they were never cleaned. The most of clients are local, but we hope that it's not beacause of it the management of the hotel doesn't care about the detail. Certainly that the location of the hotel is very good, but a good hotel is not only about the location. This 4 stars hotel is lack of investment, it could be very nice hotel if it well maintained.

The staffs (receptioniste, door men & in restaurant) are very nice & helpfull. Ideal location. In Tunjungan area, heart of Surabaya.

it’s spacious hotel but the poor maintenance and not clean especially inside the bathroom were I could see cockroaches

it’s just adjacent to Tanjungan plaza so it’s in the heart of the city and convenient for shopping

the hotel is nearing the end of it's useful life. it felt tired and run down. maintenance seemed non existant.we would choose not to stay in this hotel again due to it's neglected and run down feel.

the breakfast was the best part of our stay there which was our scond visit since 2012. the staff were efficient and courteous.

The building is very old, AC doesn’t work properly it was hot on all three rooms that I booked for my families. My brother had to sleep on the floor because how hot the room was. It was 105 Degree Fahrenheit in Surabaya. Shower water pressure wasn’t good. The view from windows are concrete wall.

The network was so bad, the WiFi almost useless while the phone signal is very bad. I can not make Internet call with WiFi or my orginal package

The smell of the room, the elevator keep under maintainance, wifi too slow and sometime its not working.

A lot: long waiting time for check-in. Same girl that check us in at 10 pm was also working again at 9 am....! Elevators smirky, hallways stale, smell like an old Sovjet Russia outdated hotel, like no one has been there for ages. Rooms also stale smell. Lampshades rusty. No cable TV, only a few local channels with bad reception (4 stars ???). As I said i had prepaid this one, otherwise we would have not checked in. Overrated and overpriced: cheating on people with great pictures and so called 4 or 5 stars: it is a trap - dont go here!

There was not much to like. Even the grandeur if this place is 'stale'. Unfortunately I had prepaid it, otherwise we would not have checked in. The security and concierge were the best here: friendly and helpful, but that is about it!

The pool was green. There is no access to the shopping mall so you have to go around the street.

Close to popular malls and fast food. Rooms were quiet and the bathroom huge.

The wall was dirth and broken of wall paper at some area. Breakfast menu, not a 4 star class hotel,..very poor variations
