Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Thank you very much Giovani and team we will be back 100% you made our stay even better. Arrivederci Ps to anyone booking on booking.com they advertise a free shuttle from the airport , not the hotel but Booking.com and they don’t follow through as we had to pay our own after they refused , please be aware of this as it is false advertisement from Booking.com nothing to do with the hotel at all.

United States of AmericaOur stay at IL Barilotto was great, the customer service was amazing and felt very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was great every morning and the views were amazing as well. Not very far from central positano but has a quieter vibe that is good for less traffic and commotion. Very close to Praiano which has a very authentic feel compared to Positano. The shuttle is convenient for if you want to be in the mix more than not and it’s not too far from both Positano and Amalfi’s beaches. When we visit the Amalfi Coast again this is where we will rebook!

FranceThere's nothing I didn't like. Caution : Parents of young children might find the location scary if unaccustomed to the idea that the front door of the hotel opens onto the main road where cars and buses speed by, going around the corner. Just be aware. Nothing negative.
Clean functional room with a large balcony and sun beds. Private enough. Bathroom: sparkling clean. Tiled floors: spotless and welcoming. The owners were gracious and kind and professional. We felt welcome and pampered. Access to Positano center and Praiano was easy by car. Buses available but we did not take any. Hotel shuttle available but we did not need it. All good !

United States of AmericaMy only issue (and it would not keep me from booking again) is that the twin beds were not very comfortable and the bedding needs to be updated. All was very clean though.
The location just outside crowded Positano was ideal! The shuttle service in to town was incredibly convenient. The views from our room were stunning.

United States of AmericaOnce on the property there was really nothing to do and no where to go besides the room. However the shuttle service provided to town and bus stop close by made it easy to leave the property. One restaurant in short walking distance that was amazing.
Giovanni and his family were so friendly and attentive, the property was beautiful and sooo clean! Our room was basic but the bathroom was newly renovated and beautiful. The view from our balcony exquisite. Breakfast made me feel like a queen!

Everything about our stay here exceeded our expectations. The room had a private balcony that overlooked the Meddederanean Sea. The breakfast patio overlooked the Meddederanean Sea. The proprietor, Giavonni, treated us like family. he drove us into town and picked us up three times. The breakfast as amazing; fresh fruit, fresh bread, eggs any way we wanted and sweet pastry to finish. Over the top customer service.

We loved the quiet location away from town. The walk from town is manageable, however, calling for a shuttle was never a problem.

United States of AmericaI wish we had a better idea of how far we were from downtown Positano so we could have planned differently. But, it wan't a game-changer. I would stay here for our next trip most definitely.
From the time we arrived at Al Barilotto, we felt like we were staying with family. Giovanni et al. were amazing hosts--so warm and friendly. Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean, with a lovely private terrace and amazing view of the Mediterranean. We were a little out of the way from downtown Positano so it was quieter. But Giovanni provides shuttle service a few times per day to downtown. Breakfast exceeded our expectations. Their gardens extend to the arbored terrace where breakfast is served, with stunning views of the water, and all the special touches with the lovely ceramic place settings. In addition to any egg dish you could think of ordering, every morning we had beautiful fruits from the garden, yogurts, a platter of charcuterie and delicious cheeses, home made breads, and each day there was a special baked tart or cake... and the caffe was the best in all of Italy. Seriously. It was just perfect!

United KingdomIt is on a busy road that just takes a bit of getting used to. But it doesn’t keep you awake at night.
It is so characterful and as it is a little outside of Positano it is all less hectic. We loved Giovanni and his sister Rachele, who work so hard and make your stay exceptional.

United States of AmericaIt was spotless and very clean. We also had the best cappuccinos everyday there made by the owner Giovanni. The water view was magnificent, and the staff were great. There’s even an outdoor shower on the roof, and a Vespa that you can rent. The property also helped arrange dinner for us with a shuttle.

I had the most incredible experience at Hotel Al Barilotto Del Nonno in Positano. From the moment I arrived, Giovanni's warm and attentive service made me feel truly special. The rooms offered breathtaking, endless views of the sea, creating a serene and unforgettable atmosphere. But what truly blew me away was the breakfast in their enchanting garden. The spread was not only rich and tasty but also surrounded by the beauty of nature. It was the perfect way to start each day of my stay. I can't recommend this hotel enough. It's a hidden gem in Positano, and I'll cherish the memories of this exceptional stay. If you're looking for a slice of paradise, look no further than Hotel Al Barilotto Del Nonno
