As some people have mentioned already, the stairs may be a bit of mission for some people to go up and down, especially if you have big luggage (we didn't). But contrary to what someone said, there is a small landing after the first set in case you need to catch your breath. :-)

Very centrally located, though it is slightly hidden if you try to find it on the map. You have to take a small alleyway and then turn left - it'll be the very last door at the end. Lucca is a small place, so this was a perfect place to be. Loads of shops, cafes basically 2 minutes away from our door.

Low sloping ceilings, anyone over 5ft 6 will bump their head at some point!. Couldn't see a smoke detector. Message said we could check in from 14.30 then they didn't turn up until an hour later despite us calling, no apology.

Even the instructions from the owners seemed very detailed and sufficing, with photos and everything – we still struggled to find the flat as it is really hidden. Nothing too bad, just prepare yourself for some search. Another thing we didn't really fancy is the suicidal, narrow and steep stairway 😅 Once you get out – you better make sure you didn't forget something in the flat as you will not want to go back and forth to the last floor. Also – do not bring big and heavy luggage with you.

We loved the super-central location 😍 For a short stay - this is perfect! The flat we liked funnily – it is kinda unusual setting but actually looks cool and cosy. The communication with the owner was very simple - if you like to check in and out with minimum words exchanged - this is your stay :)

I know from the way he treated me and others he will do all he can to make us comfortable and he did. But know one can predict when something may or may not work. The ceiling fan in my room was not working, which keeps the rooms cool. So he provided a fan. It helped, but not as good as the ceiling fan.

The owner willingness to satisfy his customers. He stop doing what he was doing and let me in early. I had read the check in time wrong. I also witnessed how kind he was to two mature ladies. Providing refreshments and with a happy attitude. He gets a A+ in my book.

No aircon and wifi pw incorrect on all room literature.

Location excellent. Room ok but no Aircon (38° temps)and WiFi code incorrect on all literature. Stumbled across a leaflet in the unmanned reception area on day of departure (only 1 nt stay).

It was a lovely second stop along my walk on the Via Francigena (starting in Lucca). The owner was so kind! There’s an espresso machine and packaged croissants and biscuits for early morning check-outs.

The steep stairs to the 'studio' and the low sloping ceiling in the room designated as the bathroom could be a problem( but you are informed in advance).

The location was in the historic centre and the very efficient air conditioning was vital in the searing heat. The studio was very spacious (but sparsley furnished with odd bits of furniture).. The shower was good. The kitchen area seemed to be well enough equipped - though we only used the fridge. We were allowed to leave our luggage at the premises as we had a late flight home.

The bathroom was a bit tired and it being a Saturday night was pretty noisy from the street below. Though i guess that is the city centre for you.

the 31 steep stairs! if you are someone that travels with a lot of luggage this will be a challenge.
