Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe quality of the towels wasn't the greatest, and the beds were not comfortable (especially the extra one). We didn't know if we could use the wash machine (I asked, but I didn't hear back). Could have a suport to hang shampoo and other products in the bathroom.
The location is excellent. It was close to everything. We found the apartment charming. We really appreciated it.

United KingdomNo lift up to the room, but it didn’t really bother us. It’s up 2 flights of stairs. There isn’t a shower screen. It’s just a bath with a hand shower. We ran out of toilet roll on the last day, it would’ve been nice if they supplied a bit more to us. There was no shampoo or body wash. I guess it’s a self catering apartment though so it’s kind of expected. There is hand soap which is good.
The photos don’t do it justice! This was the cutest and most quaint place we could have stayed in Venice! It has a mini kitchen which is in a grand wardrobe. It was so cute. Cute little balcony We loved it!

SwitzerlandThe staff speaks English on intermediate level, it was difficult to communicate. No WiFi. No air conditioning. No response to the questions via private messages.
The interior of the apartment is quite "local": old-fasioned furniture, paintings on the walls, old windows. Good location: just a few minutes from the closest waterbus stop.

KazakhstanThe air condition wasn't working and the owners knew about that 2 weeks before my reservation, but did nothing to fix it. It was a nightmare trying to sleep when it is +30 C outside, windows are opened and mosquitoes freely flying, plus it was super noisy in the morning because of opened windows. Sometimes people say that information is everything, so be prepared to have none in case of staying in this apartments. Things you won't know: 1. Wi-Fi connection name 2. If you try to guess the connection name and use a password from a paper with a password on table you will also fail, because the password has nothing in common with a real one. 3. You shouldn't leave any garbage in the apartment after you stay, right? But where to leave it, no answer. Spoiler you can do it in 2 streets from the apartment (CAMPO MANIN ~2-3 minutes on foot) but only from 8am till 10am. What you need to do with you garbage if you are leaving the city at the evening for example I have no answer.
Great location in the city center. The apartments are pretty big.

NorwayWe were notified in advance that the AC had stopped working. However when we arrived we found that the fridge was out of order as well, and according to recent reviews had been so for a while. Another detractor was that the cleaner arrived at 0900 hours, rather than wait for the 10 o'clock check out, sending us off on a negative vibe. In essence: max points for location, but failing amenities and so-so services were disappointing
Very good location in central Venice, close to both the Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco. A Coop supermarket two minutes away.

Czech RepublicThe place has a not really good equipped kitchen, a bathroom and a combined sleeping / living room. The would kitchen need normal equipment ( hot water kettle, more cutlery, cups and glasses. The furniture is very old, but still functional. Bathroom needs a good handyman, the toilet is not fixed to the floor, the shower cabin is all moving. A pair of normal, clean towels would be appropriated. The bedroom needs normal and clean bed sheets, the Tv is like a very small computer display. This place need in general new paint, a proper cleaning, a bit of repairs and a bit of new standard equipment. The price for this apartment absolutely doesn’t match the standard quality expectations and its a shame the owner doesn’t care about it. The welcoming person was very friendly. There was no other contact during the whole stay. I go to Venice every year, this was my first time using other mode of accommodation than a hotel and for sure I do not recommend this place since for me and my whole family it was too filthy and not worth to stay at all.
Convenient location nee Rialto bridge, quiet place, next door a supermarket

EstoniaThe concierge was late by 1.5H from the time that he initially set up. For the first hour he provided a tiny notice with “unfortunately” it is what it is and the rest time by texting “im nearly there”. Awful service if you have other comments or it’s 33C outside and you just need to wait. Kitchen utilities could be extended as didn’t even have pasta spoon - had to be creative. Plus not all bulbs were working.
The location of the property is fabulous. Quite easy to find and having a relatively large supermarket only few steps away is a huge bonus.

United States of AmericaSee above.
Great location in Venice. The issues were the broken refrigerator, air conditioning, and staff communication. Staff told me a few days prior there air conditioning was broken and offered refund, however it is hard to find a good replacement a few days before the trip so we decided to keep it and deal with hot temperatures. When we got there, we bought a refrigerator full of good but found out the next day it was broken since food began to stink. I communicated with the hotel twice that it is broken too and no response. Also the entry into the apartment on first floor, the light isn't working, so at night you need to have flashlight or use your phone to the second floor so you don't trip on steps in the dark. If everything was working and staff communicated, I'd give it a 5 but I simply cannot. If you want air and cook your own food, and want staff communication, don't stay here.

New ZealandThe staff were poor at best. The wifi didn’t work (which was essential for my work meetings) and the air conditioning stopped functioning during four extremely hot days. The fridge leaked. Don’t expect an answer from them despite repeated texts and calls to the property manager for some assistance. You will be ignored. The worst BnB management experience ever.

United KingdomSimple instructions for use of the oven (or microwave, still not sure what it is) Air conditioning (if that's what it is) Recycling, renewal of the bin liner or waste disposal. Coming and going and leaving of keys on departure. A simple map showing location to other areas which would be useful to find your way about. The bathroom has no shower curtain or high level hook for the shower so you can't use the shower attachment as a proper shower unless you flood the bathroom. The steps up to the bath are steep and could be slippy with wet feet. No provision for anti-slip mats etc. so makes it difficult and dangerous for getting in and out. The bath walls are not fully tiled so everything gets wet, including the hanging picture. But the big deep bath is very good. (if you want a bath all the time) No hooks for hanging bath towels or dressing gowns. The bed has only two pillows (ie. one each). There is another one but without a pillow case. No bedside tables for putting a drink or reading material on and no bedside lamps. There are some extremely small higher level shelves. Very few coat hangers in the wardrobe. The mini kitchen is very poorly stocked. No cups with handles for making a brew (only two very small espresso cups). We had to use the small glasses for making tea which wasn't good or safe. No draining board area for washing pots. This is taken up with the free standing oven and when you move this there is a large hole in the worktop over the fridge. No sharp knife, no plug for the sink, no bread knife, no corkscrew bottle opener, no beer bottle opener, no can opener, no mats for hot things or drinks ...... the list goes on. The kitchen has a very low couch which I think turns into another bed, not sure. The balcony is a Juliet balcony so you can't sit out on it and when you open the french doors you have a wonderful view of a cement rendered brick wall. Kitchen stools are extremely uncomfortable. Nowhere place for the electric kettle.
The property is very central to the main tourist areas of Venice. It's serviced well with the water buses and you can find other major attractions from the properties location. There is a convenient supermarket close by but it is very expensive and not very well stocked. Other supermarkets further away are far better. There is a very good pizza restaurant close by with a really nice terrace, would recommend.
