Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaEasy walking distance from the train station but in the quieter part of town. Very nice to hear the nearby stream/river. Check in and check out were very easy and the host had some helpful suggestions. I would definitely stay there again!

United KingdomNothing.
A fantastic location, just a few minutes walk from the station but most importantly in a peaceful location away from the busy day-tripping crowds of Vernazza. Very tranquil setting with a stream running outside, the sound of which we found so peaceful and helped us sleep too! A couple of local cafes close by for breakfast too - although it’s only a few minutes walk into the village to pick up some focaccia. A lovely apartment with excellent facilities including air conditioning, although we did not need that as the room was lovely and cool, which was perfect when returning after a long walk. The bed is a bit unusual being sunk into the floor but it certainly didn’t affect our sleep. Wonderful hosts who were very helpful. We found it the perfect location to explore the Cinque Terre (walking) and Vernazza is lovely during the evenings once the crowds have moved on.

United States of AmericaWe really enjoyed our stay very much. It was a great base from which to travel to the other villages both by train and by boat. The creek running in front of the apartment provided a soothing sound at night. A quiet accommodation in a busy village.

AustriaNothing I saw that could be improved upon. Like I said, it's a little dark. We didn't notice a dank smell, but I imagine some sensitive people might think it smells like basement. It has a quirky raised floor in the bath and bed area. Why is the bed set into the floor? No idea, but for us it wasn't a problem.
I told the property manager when we would start hiking from Monterosso and gave her a call when we arrived in Vernazza. She met us a few minutes later and took us to the apartment. It's just up the main street, away from the crowds, which we prefer. No view, and the apartment is a tad dark, but who's spending the day inside anyway?? It was roomy and clean and had some quirks, but we had no problems. We didn't end up cooking there, but the kitchen seemed adequately equipped. Bed was comfy. Would recommend!

Really quirky apartment with excellent much needed air con. Nearer enough but far enough from centre and therefore really peaceful. Was very spacious with loads of storage and hanging space and coat hangers provided. Comfy bed.

AustraliaThis is a lovely, large apartment at the top end of town and so is beautifully quiet. It is a very easy walk from the Harbour and had everything we needed - including a clothes line which was super helpful. Easy check in. Highly recommended.

AustraliaEverything was fine but being elderly we found the sunken bed difficult to get out of it.
The location was excellent very quite away from the madness of vernazza itself but a very short stroll to that craziness excellent restaurant serving breakfast and lunch across the road and another serving lunch and dinner

New ZealandBed was low when you have sore legs from doing the walks to the next villages, as there's steps everywhere! However, no big issue! We loved it 😀
You arrive in Vernazza Station in the hubbub of day trippers, but as you walk the short 2mins up the hill to this apartment everything becomes quiet and residential. It an ideal location fir the lovely village. Our favourite now of the Cinque Terre. There are steps to reach the apartment, so not ideal for baby or anyone with hip/knee issues, and the bed is very low as it is sunk into floor. It could sleep 5 if it was 2 adults and 3 small children (4-10yrs) We highly recommend both this village and this apartment.

United KingdomSome people have commented about the little river outside being quite calming but for us it just reminded us of the rain in Manchester where we come from! The single pillows were too thin and we had to use cushions to make them ideal to sleep on. The final criticism relates to the shower towels which were like bedsheets
The apartment was very tastefully decorated and the location was away from the town and very relaxing

United States of AmericaIt's not a general problem, really, but if you have any kind of mobility issues, it might be a little difficult. The bed is down in a hole in the floor, which makes getting in and out of bed a challenge. And there are a lot of stairs, but that is Cinque Terre!
The location was perfect! The people were marvelous, and the place itself was adorable... sweet little footbridge, plants and care everywhere you look!

The appartment is along side a small creek so you hear a nice flow of water which is cosy. Also the appartment is really cool so on summer days its ideal. Its also really closeby the station so no need to worry about getting to the station with luggage.

FranceYou cannot access it by car, instead you have to park in a parking (15€/day) with a private shuttle that leaves you relatively close to the apparemment. Not very handy if you are traveling with a lot of luggage or you plan to use it as settlement for exploring the surroundings by car.
Nice, big, clean, well equipped, welcoming staff, close to the shuttle pick-up/drop off point

AustraliaThere was a slight musty smell in the blankets on the bed and from underneath the bed which is recessed into the floor. I sneezed a bit on my first night but it settled down fairly quickly.
We loved our stay here. This apartment is roomy, warm, clean, has lots of extras and is in a really good location in Vernazza. There is only one set of steps down to the property and it’s a 100m walk to the train station and 150m to the water’s edge. We drove to Vernazza, parked outside the village just beyond the residents parking zone and walked in the 1.5km. We packed lightly and left extra luggage in the car. Worth noting, there’s a laundry across the road and if you ask the owner, she’ll leave you out a drying line. Would definitely stay in this apartment again.
