Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The bathroom could definitely be a bit more comfortable: the shower was mounted in the wall, which is not always convenient and it took some time for running water to heat up. Some bits and pieces in the bathroom could also be a bit cleaner. The main host was polite, but not particularly friendly
Very nice building in the very center of Rome, can easily get everywhere. For the value, everything was pretty much great

Breakfast in the nearby cafe was disappointing and unfriendly, no options for GF or vegan, a few sad looking pastries and standard coffee served by brusque and disinterested staff. Gave up after one morning and found way better breakfast options elsewhere.
Tremendous location for walkable connection to all of Rome's key sites, spacious, quiet, clean room. Safe and secure, decent wifi connection, all needs met.

The room was smaller than it looked like on the photos online. Also our bathroom smelled pretty bad.
The location was really nice. Really close to the bus stop and to the Vatican. The staff was also really nice.

We had a tiny issue one day with the pipes and they smelled a lot. However when they came to clean and check the day after , the problem had passed and didn't happen again.
Spacious room with two beds. Everything is quite modern and clean. Breakfast was also very nice at a cafe nearby. It is located very close to the city and connected very well to all the locations by public transport 1min walking.

Nothing really. Maybe one downside is that there isn't a subway station for at least 900m but Rome is a very walkable city. You miss a lot if you use the subway too much.
Clean well kept apartments close to Castel Sant' Angelo (walking distance). Maisa at the reception is a very warm and welcoming lady. The apartment is on the second floor but also served with a lift.

No receptionist to welcome you which I think is very important . We had bad experience because when we arrived at the Inn we failed the first trial of door code then an occupant just arrived and talking in a language we don’t understand in a rude angry gesture . We tried to explained but I think can’t understand English and when she open the door to get in we were thankful that we can also going in but she stopped us and even push out our luggage and didn’t let us in until we got the code correctly . We understand maybe that lady is just after safety and security especially we are Asians but she should be helpful and kind enough to ask the situation instead she made us felt like a invaders or trespassers.

Everything was brilliant about location,room and stuff. Till Vatican is only 15 minutes to walk,till centre maybe 7 minutes. All good about this hotel, reception just last night we ask booked taxi-and taxi doesn't came. So we went to centre to found. But thanku for nice time in Roma!

The Internet connection was not that good in the room

Could have been a bit larger.
The staff were very helpful in organising transport for us. The breakfast was a nice added touch and plenty of it. Pretty good location for sightseeing.

Water was provided for the first night but that was it. It should be provided daily. It was awful coming home in 30degree heat and no water provided in the room.
Location was super loads around within walking distance. Fab food spots around the area also.

The breakfast was at a café nearby, while the quality of their pastry was not bad, the options were limited and they could not speak English there.
We found the location of the accomodation amazing, everything is near, 20-30 minute walking distance away.

Bathroom needs updating and shower cubicle too small. No hand shower .

Our room was right in front of the concierge table so we didn’t want to talk too loud.
The breakfast was fantastic. It was not onsite but about 5 minutes walk to a cafe.
