Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Very minor and not a big deal, but the shower could have been a little warmer. We hiked in the rain and were a bit chilly when we got back so some really hot water would have been nice, but otherwise I can’t think of anything that I would change.
The location was excellent, close to everything and easy to get to. We loved the little balcony that looked out over the town, we enjoyed watching and listening to the buzz of activity down below. The room was a good size and very comfortable. The property manager was very friendly and helpful with great advice and suggestions for things to do.

Required climbing some steep steps but that’s to be expected in Manarola.
Great location. Met the owner at checkin - very friendly and helpful.

Nothing. This is a fantastic, great value place to stay.
Perfect location in Manarola. Surpringly quiet despite being in the heart of the village. Great size, clean room with effective airconditioning and walk-in rainfall shower was an added bonus. Giorgio was a perfect host, very responsive and always happy to help.

George the host was amazing!! Gave us great recommendations for food and things to do. He was very accomodating to our needs and extremely helpful!! Location was perfect and room is very spacious and nice. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

I would have liked softer pillows.

Giorgio was the perfect, friendly host with lots of good suggestions for local excursions. The room was modern, spacious, beautifully air-conditioned and with a comfortable bed and the best shower we have had in two and half months of traveling in Europe. Right in the middle of Manarola, what more could you want.

The location was amazing! Right by the station and right by the water. The owner was amazing, super helpful and had lots of advice and tips about our stay and how to get the most out of the area. The room was clean, spacious and all the essentials, plus a super comfy bed!

The mattress was a bit lumpy and the room was lacking in decoration. Had the mattress been more comfortable, I would definitely have rated it higher.
The location was great - enough off of the main drag that there wasn't a lot of noise, but not too far off where it required a ton of stairs to get to it. It has a small terrace with a small table and two chairs where you could see a slice of the sea. Our host was friendly and helpful.

Would be nice to have clean coffee cups each day, but we used the kettle to rinse (could have also used the paper cups provided).
Great location, fantastic host, the room had everything we needed to be comfortable. There is a greag balcony, lovely bathroom...everything was just fabulous.

I had a fantastic 4 night stay at Ca' del Monica. The location is great - really central for easy access to Manarola station, restaurants and the harbourside. The room was spacious and really clean, and Giorgio was a fantastic and welcoming host. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay here again!

Nothing to complain
Fantastic apartment. We were three staying for two nights in Manarola. Highly recommend Manarola as one of the stops in CT. Its mid way and quite convenient to go up or down depending on how many villages you want to cover. Apartment is about 10 mins walk from the station. Giorgio was on time and super helpful. All the beds are in one room - very modern and renovated. Bathroom was nice and spacious with great shower facility. There is a nespresso coffee machine and mini kitchenette. There are about 25 to 30 steps pretty steep to get to the apartment - but thats the story for most apartments in the villages. Views are decent - partial view of the water. Close to restaurants and take aways. Best pillows in Europe and very comfortable beds. Overall highly recommended.
