Google maps showed the Casa at street level down from the train station. Actually 80 or so irregular steps above the station. Sara arranged a porter for our bags. 2 seventy plus travelers appreciated Ivan's assistance even though we only had 2 carry-on rollers and shoulder bags.

Casa Sara was small but comfortable, nice bathroom. Fantastic views. Restaurant attached, mostly fish and pastas was convenient. Lorena is a gem, very helpful with planning.

It is above the train station but that is honestly out of their control (people who complain about it should do their research!!) and besides, they provide you with earplugs in case you are a light sleeper

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. We had the top apartment Lisa, with the most amazing views of Vernazza. Every day we would sit out on the balcony and take in the beautiful view. Each morning between 9-10 Lorena would welcome us at the restaurant attached to the property and the view is also to die for. She was so amazing helping us so much with our stay with train tickets and advice, along with a coffee and cake included. The room itself was so clean and the most comfortable bed and bedding. There was coffee and tea and a kettle in our room, fridge and even an ironing board and iron, which is rare in Italy. A short walk to the train station too. Would definitely stay here again, thank you

We found the location , restaurant, rooms and staff above extraordinary! This was a 5 star stay for us . The view , the bed , the shower , Full size amenities… were perfect . We travel a lot ( retired) and we cannot say enough good things about CasaCato . Sara and especially Lorraine helping us with our days was the icing on the cake . The location is great - not too far to walk from the train station and fantastic views over Vernazza. (And not being too far to walk is important as there are a lot of stairs in the Cinque Terre.) Our room was lovely - very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Also we enjoyed having the balcony and sitting outside looking out at the view. It was great to meet with Lorena (who was very friendly and helpful) each morning on the terrace to get ideas for what to do in the area and buy discounted train passes (And to also to enjoy a hot drink and local cake). Casa Catò is close to the train station, and while you can hear them, they aren’t a problem at all. We thought Vernazza was a great town to stay in. We visited all the Cinque Terre towns and thought Vernazza was excellent for facilities, size and ease of getting around.

The view from the property's patio was UNBELIEVABLE! Sure it was a little work to go up the steps to get to the property but it's expected in Cinque Terre. The reward was so worth it! One of our best stays in ALL of our travels in Italy. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The view had to be the best view in all Cinque Terre! We researched all the towns doe 6 months to find the right accommodation with amazing views and I can’t fault it. The beautiful people we met on check in and the cleaner was wonderful. Can’t thank them enough for their kindness and making such a small space so workable. It was perfect for two of us for a few days! Can’t fault it! If you don’t stay here you’re doing yourself a disfavor!!

Vernazza itself is a good base and the apartment had great views down into Vernazza. Friendly and helpful host as Lorena was always willing to help give advice on the itinerary. Seemed very clean too. Light breakfast served on the veranda with great views too. Large comfortable bed so we slept well.

Restaurant was unfortunately not open yet but we did discover ‘Il Pirate’ restaurant a block away and it is fantastic! Cannolis are delectable!

The only downside was the noise from the train station with its loud and very frequent announcements during the night. We had to close our balcony doors which was a shame but not the property's fault.

Beautiful view from the balcony. The staff were great... very helpful and friendly and helped us plan our days and gave advice on the best walks and routes and what train and other tickets we would need. It was very clean and was cleaned every day. Cake and cappuccino on the terrace every morning was a treat.

Excellent location with a beautiful view but the service stands out the most. We had ideas on what we wanted to do but did not do the research, Lorena helped us schedule each day and provided excellent advice - to include how to avoid the crowds.

Nothing. It was perfect!

The view from our balcony and terrace were literally the best in Vernazza! The room was incredibly clean and the bathroom was nice and large. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room also came with a safe and small refrigerator. The location is just up the hill from the train station and while there are a number of steps to get there, we more than managed to carry our own luggage (they also provide a luggage service if you want). Lorena was so incredibly kind to us and it was sad to leave her and Casa Cato. She sent us a video of how to get to the property and it was so helpful! If we ever travel back to Vernazza, we will certainly stay at Casa Cato again.

No one on the property to assist if an issue should arise. Should provide a continental breakfast. We were offered packaged pastry and coffee and honestly this should be improved. But the service was excellent and very helpful. Bed was hard and uncomfortable.
