Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

1. You can't get more "In Centro" than Ca Margherita. Walking distance to about everything. Plus, for the couple of places like Palazzo Ducale, there is a free bus service. Lots of eateries nearby. 2. Awesome customer service. We will go back.

Everything was perfect!
I have never written a review before but our stay at Casa Margarita was very special. Barbara communicated with us before our, arrival and worked with us about where to park and gave us info on how to navigate the city..Our room was very spacious. the location was right in the center. Breakfast included ham, cheese, yogurt, croissants and more. . Barbara was warm and gracious, just a lovely host. Mantova is a wonderful city, definitely worth seeing. Stay at Casa Margarita you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic location and wonderful hostess. Barbara gave us a lot of recommendations and helped us with the logistics. She is very nice and tries hard to help. Great experience

The wifi was almost nonexistent. The bed was a bit old and wonky. No shampoo. Now this is not a criticism just a note for future travelers: this is a small property with like 3 rooms in total. Hosts are not there all the time so you have to be sure to call/write and agree with them when they'll receive you and when you leave.
Amazing host who helped us with parking - this is in the historic center with a possibility of street parking (you need to call ahead); good option to park in garage on Via Mazzini and then walk. Amazing building with a view of the historic center, multiple restaurants bars and museums right next door. The cheapest Aperols are right downstairs :) Fresh sweet breakfast was included.

My partner and I stayed there for two nights. The size of the room is the real asset of the place: the parquet floor, the two windows on the bedroom and the one in the bathroom marked the difference from any other BnB we stayed at during the two days. the breakfast is classic continental, with a choice of croissants and sbrisolona, the typical cake. Honorable mention goes to the host, that treated us with warmth and professionality.

I think not all of the sockets had power. There are plenty of lights in the room but it was confusing how to switch on the right one. Something to note, but not to complain about, be aware that some rooms can be in the 3rd or 4th floor and there is no lift.
In the middle of the town opposite the main market place. Great atmosphere. The bedroom was enormous. There was not only a shower but also a bath tub. Lots of space everywhere. Very nice breakfast in a very scenic breakfast room.

Some folks may not like the stairs, I think it was on the 3rd floor (US), 2nd floor (EU), In order to park close, must be in a ZTL area. Hostess is able to provide parking pass, however, so be sure to ask for one.
Breakfast was fantastic! I drove my own car and the hostess was kind enough to help me find parking despite being very busy when I arrived. The room was very large.
