Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Not much at all. Minor quibbles would be... availability of ironing board I missed tea / coffee making facilities in the room (tea, coffee and a well stocked fridge) was available in the kitchen area.
Fantastic hosts (friendly and very helpful), home from home feeling, lovely room, great breakfast with quality and locally sourced ingredients and brilliant location in the centre of the old town and a stine's throw from all the main attractions.

The lack of elevator, but it is understandable due to the characteristics of the house and the zone.
Location is fantastic, value for money, friendly staff. Did I mention that the breakfast was fabulous?

Location is extremely good for central Noto and the three brothers who run Zioli could not have been more helpful or friendly.

This is a wonderful introduction to generous Sicilian hospitality. The owners, Stefano and Francesco, were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious and included many home-made Sicilian delicacies. Stefano was very kind in helping us get our car and suitcases to and from the carpark nearby.

The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful, but my husband would have preferred more savoury options as most of the offerings are sweet - cake, jam, yogurt, desserts. There was a plate of meat and cheese, but perhaps some simple, non-sugary breakfast cereal would be a good addition.
Super comfortable beds and pillows, lovely large bathroom and plenty of storage. The welcome was warm and genuine, and we really enjoyed interacting with the owners throughout our stay. We also had a delicious meal at the restaurant ' Nache ' which Zioli also runs - the same warm hospitality, good food and a really nice outside seating area. We enjoyed a drink on the rooftop and the jacussi one evening too - highly recommend!

The property is in a wonderful position, close to everything that you need. The facilities were very nice and comfortable and very clean. The staff were all very nice, friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend Zioli

We loved our hosts. They were so helpful. The location is perfect, right in the centre of Noto. The house is full of antiques, which is fine but they do have to be functional and give comfort. The house needed more comfort for travellers but I think we were the first guests to use this house and I am sure things will be remedied. I would certainly stay here again.

No complaints
Our stay was excellent. Stefano and Francesco are excellent hosts and made us feel very at home (and also our kids). Little details made a real difference, like smelling the cake baking for breakfast , having a home made breakfast each morning, the decoration and talking to the hosts at breakfast and in the evenings. We had such a good time there that we stayed an extra day and the kids didn’t want to leave.

Can sometimes hear other guests in the other rooms.
Great breakfast, cleverly designed rooms that were very spacious, very comfortable beds, and a wonderful roof terrace. The hosts we're also great, very accommodating and helpful
