Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOne thing that could be looked at would be consideration to renewing the beds. They were a mixture of frames that ranged between supportive and not so much. We chose the location because it was closer to the Stadio Olympico for the rugby but there were no bars to speak of in that part of the city. That said, the culture is different as is the approach to alcohol consumption in Rome where cafes and restaurants are more the order of the day.
The host Paolo was very helpful and welcoming. The flat was lovely and spacious. It was in a nice part of the city with some great cafes and small shops around and on the 990 bus route into the city. The shower was good and hot and the two separate bathroom/shower rooms was handy for six of us travelling. Paolo was very understanding when one of our group accidentally took a set of keys home with him.

IrelandOverall everything was ok, but there were a few points I'd like to drow attention to: 1. You have to arrive right on time for check in. That means that can't be very flexible if the flights is delayed or some other troubles that happen when traveling. 2. It is not possible to use the microwave, electric kettle and hairdryer at the same time as it causes electricity overload and switchs out fuses.
Owner brought keys himself, that can mean that no one else potentially can access apartment. Central heating on timer which was very handy when you arrive to warm place afrter a day spent outdoor! (We were traveling in November). You can find some tea/coffee/food to cook that people left there. We left some pasta, but used some rice. Was helpful as we arrived just for five days and didn't want to buy everything for living, but had to have something as we were with kids.

United States of AmericaNo complaints that would prevent us from staying again.
Location was excellent. Bus and metro nearby made it easy to get into the attractions and connect to Rome and the Vatican. It also made it easy to get away from the busy city center at night. Car from the airport made it easy to get settled. Supermarket, restaurants, and the best gelato nearby (Pelican). Very comfortable place to stay.

Large apartment with enough space for a large family, so you don't get in each other's way. The location was good, there is a bus stop right in front of the front door, and the train station is about a 5-minute walk away. Supermarkets also within easy reach. the host very friendly and replies quickly.

Cayman IslandsWe had to ration our electricity which we were not made aware of until we got to the location. We couldn’t wash our clothes in the washing machine and have the air conditioner on at the same time- we were not told this.
Very spacious and clean.

AustraliaWe had trouble with the dishwasher leaking over the floor - even without us using it! The electrical system shuts off regularly - especially when using the oven. And the wifi alternated between bad to average. These were all relatively minor things - but they did impact our stay.
The location was within walking distance of the Vatican and also close to buses. Large apartment and fully stocked with all you will need. It was also very secure.
