Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe room we got came with a balcony "with a view". Unfortunately the balcony is about 2ft wide and the view is not very pleasant. You have to climb a lot of stairs before you get to the elevator that takes you up to the other floors. It is definitely not the place for those who have physical or medical issues with the climb or for people who have to carry strollers etc.
The location is very central. The room and bathroom were well equipped and spacious. There is a nice hospitality area near the reception where you can pick up extra tea or coffee and cookies. It is a very old and very charming building.

Russia1. No parking around. You have to leave your car in the garage (€30-50 per night), which is 5-10 mins walking from the hotel, and you have to grab your bags there. Good thing, that the property worn you about everything, but nevertheless if it is your first time in busy Florence and you have heavy bags, you won’t be happy about it :) 2. Too loud every night :( it is a center, so people are cruising around and sit at the bars/restaurants.
Nice staff, beautiful rooms, center of the city! It doesn’t look like hotel, more like an apartments, which is cozy and nice!

United States of AmericaBe prepared to walk up and down a lot of stairs (or wait forever for the elevator)
Location is just perfect, just a short walk to anywhere in Florence. Plenty of restaurants, shops and attractions around. Still, it's super quiet and isolated from the street. And the staff is just amazing, ready to help at any moment (and they pick the best restaurants).

GermanyThe rooms are on the second floor but there is only a lift from the first floor upwards. It is understandable as it is a very old building, just be prepared for hauling luggage up a lot of stairs.
Fantastic location in the historical centre of town just a few steps from the Duomo. The room was large and comfortable with a chic and modern bathroom. The cleaning was immaculate and the staff were very friendly.

Great location, very close to everything and right beside the Dante museum. Simple but convenient facilities, lovely and extraordinarily helpful staff. Room was a good size, comfortable, and very nice and the whole hotel was very good looking in general.

PhilippinesWe are a group of 12, and the staff mixed up some of the room assignments despite precise and detailed instructions over email. We were supposed to get a room with a balcony, but we were given a very dark one without one. The staff apologized, though.
Location is excellent! It's right in the heart of the city. There are tons of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The Duomo is also very near and walkable.

ItalyUnfortunately, the water in Florence is due to smell bad, and it was no exception at this hotel. The toilet was tiny. The room location is not the best inside the palace.
Helpful staff. We didn't get where the rooms were located, and the manager's son came down to show us the way! It's a great palace with a nice entrance! Very central.

JerseyRoom are not sound proof. Any activity in the corridor was audible, which made it extremely hard when a family are taking up 4 to 5 rooms with doors open and children running rampant between under no control.

NetherlandsNo elevator… We were promised a room with a view on the Duomo but instead got a room with a ‘view’ to a narrow ally looking into someone’s home. One shutter did not close (the latch was missing).
Location was perfect! Very central to all the attractions: Duomo, Santa Croce etc. Even the station was only a 15 minute walk

IrelandThe room was in need of some maintenance. Some poor finishings like broken light switches and patches on the wall that could do with some paint. Room was quite noisy at night with poor soundproofing on the windows.
Location was excellent.

Saudi ArabiaThe room size was small. The lighting was terrible. The bathroom light was better than the room light. The lift was far away from the ground floor and you have to climb so many steps to reach the lift. It was extremely slow as well. The fact that there isn’t a coffee machine in the room although there is one at the reception. The fact that Florence has poor taxi service in general. However, we’re lucky that the taxi came to pick us on our last day even though there was a strike on that day. People attitude in general can be off putting at times.
The property location was excellent. The property level of cleanliness is great . The furniture condition was good quality and we felt comfortable using it. The staff share a list of tours and help you booking it as well as a list of best restaurants and help guide to any place you like to go like the laundry. Cake shops to celebrate my birthday etc.
