Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Peaceful remote place, far from civilization, beatifully located in the Tuscan "desert". Beautiful landscapes. A wonderful place for families. A nice pool. Good restaurant.

AustriaUnfortunately, the hot water stopped working but we were offered compensation. The bathrooms could use some renovations, the bathtub in our first room was moldy, the shower in the second room was way better in that regard.
The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. We had no internet reception in our room and were offered to switch rooms which helped. We were given tips for hiking routes around Volterra. They have about a dozen cats roaming around (so sweet!) The breakfast was plentiful and very good. One day we had to leave early and at 8 everything was ready for us to start to eat.

North MacedoniaOur room was on the ground floor with no window, just a door. If you want to have а fresh air in the room during the night, it was impossible because it is not safe, with many mosquitoes and bugs. Breakfast was a disappointment. No vegetables, old cheap bread and cheap supermarket pies. There had to be at least something produced on the farm, such as homemade bread, cheese, pie.
Very friendly and helpful staff on a reception desk. Nice pool area, restaurant and magnificent view.

United KingdomRoom very hot in July, even with fan. Would have like air conditioning.
Idyllic location with fantastic views over surrounding countryside. Nice swimming pool to cool off in and plenty of seating options including sunbeds and umbrellas. Enjoyed watching the swallows and swifts flying overhead. Excellent breakfast with home made cheeses and cakes as well as cold meats, fresh fruits, juices and great coffee and well worth the extra cost. Fridge in room was much appreciated and small kitchenette was a bonus, even though we only made use of the plates and cutlery. Good location for visiting Volterra. Possibility to purchase farm produced cheeses, cold meats, wine and olive oil. Restaurant open for lunch and dinner. Friendly, welcoming owners.

ItalyWi-fi îs very slow and it's not really reliable. We all have phone internet, however a stronger internet connection would be appreciated. TO be honest, the area is so sparsely urbanized I guess the problem is not due to the owner's wish.
The hotel's location is wonderful. It's on top of a hill, and to get there you have to go through an unpaved road on grassy hill where hundreds of sheep roam. The hotel itself is in an ancient farm which keeps you warm in winter and I guess it keeps you cool in summer. Our room, which had a flower name instead of a number, was huge and extremely comfortable. Excellent breakfast! Homemade cakes of all sorts. Lovely.

United States of AmericaThe description online was not at all what we found regarding the farm experience. We were not allowed to tour the fields with the sheep. There was no cheese production in process so very poor tour of the cheese making. We were not even allowed to walk on the farm ourselves as we were told it was not safe. Since I requested the tours as the main reason for booking the location, and said so in my booking request, they should have informed me it was not possible. Then I could have cancelled and booked something we would have enjoyed. I was so very disappointed in the dishonesty. In addition I was quite disgusted by all the flies in the room and restaurant, climbing all over the breakfast being served. So unsanitary. It’s probably how I got sick my last day there.
The staff were all super friendly and welcoming. My son loved all the kitties.

United KingdomGot attacked by a pack of big dogs. This place absolutely has to solve the issue with telling their guests where to go and where to not go, not even talking about putting those dogs in aviary with sheep they need to guard. Just unacceptable. I couldn't even imagine if we were there with kids or personal animals. All we did is tried to walk around using the same road we used to drive in. Albeit stuff tried to apologise, it didn't look like they cared that much. As for other negatives: - Old dark room - Not enough light - Abundance of flies and place doesn't take any actions to fight them. Neither outside the property, nor inside their "restaurant" - The bathroom door needed fixing. It didn't close fully and had to be forcefully shoved into at the state closest to "closed" - One of 2 provided soap bottles was empty - Toilet paper holder was unusable when you were using a toilet. You literally have to close the lid to be able to use the roll
- Pretty view - Hammock and pool at picturesque place - A lot of cats and kittens - Decent dinner

SwedenWe didn't get a lot of information from the staff when we checked in, so we were a bit confused. The staff was nice but not super serviceminded I would say. The wifi in the room only worked in a specific corner.
The area was beautiful and the views were breathtaking. We ate at the restaurants both nights and the antipasta platter was amazing!
