Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The owners of the hotel are wonderful. They helped us with everything. We walked to all the sights as the location is a good one. The breakfast is good. The hotel is very nice and we enjoyed our stay here.

Nothing to dislike.
The room was spacious and very clean. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always so kind. They immediately showed us a map of the city with recommendations when we checked in and answered all of our questions. The free breakfast was perfect in the morning. About a 5-10 min walk to most places in Florence, was a great easy walk.

We LOVED this little tucked away surprise. Everything is clean and welcoming and the staff are lovely, chatty and kind. Breakfast is yummy, especially if you like CAKE! (I do.) There is air conditioning and the bed is firm and comfortable. Ask about THE JIGSAWS!

Hotel Giglio is in a perfect location on via Camille Cavour - a short walk to San Marco Museum , Academia & the Duomo in a quiet neighborhood but near all the sites. The family are very welcoming. The room had great air conditioning & WiFi & was very clean. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast.

The room was clean, which is most important. We would have liked greater aesthetics (e.g., pictures, cushions, rugs) and additional seating.
The breakfast was a treat. There was a nice spread of fruits, cookies, cereals, meats, and cheeses. The location was close to the tourist hot spots but not in the heart of it, meaning their were fewer people and less traffic. The bathroom architecture was gorgeous.

It was a good location, little bit far from the bustling downtown, but its only 10min walk. Staff are very friendly, the room was very clear , the breakfast good. If you would stay 2-3 day in the city I think it’s one of the best choice!

I can’t recall anything bad.
Hotel has a nice location, not far from centre. Landlords were friendly and helpful. I think this hotel has a good balance for price&quality. Breakfast was also good.

Everything was as expected and more. Our hosts were friendly and accommodating, arranging four beds in a room. The help with luggage and the glass of cold water on arrival was greatly appreciated, as Florence was experiencing hotter than normal temperatures. Breakfast was wonderful. We could easily walk to the main sites. I highly recommend this hotel

The hotel staff were extremely kind and welcoming. They gave us tips of places to explore in Florence and booked a taxi for us as well. They greeted us like family every time!

This property is amazing! Very clean and close to major attractions. The hosts were awesome! My daughter had an ear infection and they called the doctor and made sure there was a pharmacy open to fill a prescription. They helped with taxis as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel.Full and fresh breakfast each day as well.

Nothing that I did not like. Great place to stay and clean.
Staff was outstanding in regards to customer service. Breakfast was excellent with many options and coffee was delicious. The location is ideal and it is safe due to the security items that it had. Room was large and quiet. Bathroom was large in size with great pressure from shower. I definitely recommend this one to my friends and family.

Manuella and Marco, many many thanks for your sincere and warm hosting. Manuella’s shining, smiling face; Marco’s problem solving capacity is unforgettable. Breakfast is perfect and magnificent with many kinds of cookies and cakes. Position of the hotel is again perfect, very close to the city center and museums.
