Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The location was fairly far from the city center, and was in an area that didn't feel very safe to me. I didn't hand any issues, but was on guard the entire time I was coming and going. The walls of the rooms are fairly thin as well. That didn't bother me too much, but is something to note
The hotel was secure, clean and the room was very nice. Traveling alone, I felt safe inside. I was also able to store my luggage before and after my stay for a few hours while I explored outside checkin times. The owner was very kind and helpful

The towels provided in the bathroom were very thin, so it's hard to dry off.
Contrary to some of the comments the location was good and appeared safe. The hotel feels more like a bed and breakfast. Our host was friendly and the room was very spacious and clean. There are some stricter rules than usual in the hotel which are explicitly mentioned on various signs. Not quite the standard experience for a hotel but I guess since it's a small place. It was OK with me.

Location was a good walk into town but that was reflected in the price and we didn't mind as we booked last minute.
We got there early and could leave our bags and head into the city to start our tour. Owner was nice and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable enough for our stay. The deli close by sells amazing tasty treats :)

The room was clean, but needed renovation + mor facilities would be appreciated.
The hotel is located close to the train station, getting there is really easy, and there are many bus stops nearby. The host was very helpful, gave practical advice for our 2-day stay in the city.

Staff was extraordinary nice and friendly. Everything clean. Not really comfortable but fine for a 1-2 night stay. Breakfast is small and only sweets, but lovely coffee and nice staff around.

The hostel is in a nice area, 15 minutes walk from the station. The host is super friendly and helpful. The room was big and quiet. It was perfect to spend a few days in Florence.

soundproofing was my only issue. it was quite loud first thing in the morning my tv didn’t turn on I think the remote batteries were dead but I didn’t want to watch tv anyway so wasn’t an issue for me
great value for money very good location, only a short walk into Florence centre amazing hosts. they gave me recommendations for restaurants and were very eager to help and friendly. safe environment. as a solo traveller I felt very safe and secure

close to the train station, clean and they did room service while I was away for the day. the host was so kind and even helped me with charging my phone! so grateful! I traveled solo and easy and safe to get around. town is about 15 min walk.

Very good bed, clean, the owner is very friendly and accommodating. The dog is very cute. It's 15mins walk from the station,away from the centre, so it's quiet. It's safe to walk around at night

rooms aren’t soundproof. our was facing a very busy and noisy street. You can only get some peace around 1-2 am. I guess this is part of the Italian culture.
location is great. bus stop is 100m away. easy to get to old town. The host made a great effort to grant us a better internet connection, which is not great in Florence.
