Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We absolutely hated the shower. It was impossible to take a shower and not have the water spray everywhere. You have to climb over into a massive bathtub and stand in it to take a shower and the tiny little glass wall that is supposed to keep the water in, leaked from the bottom. The mattress was very hard but I think that is the norm in that area. Everyone was very helpful at the front desk except for one lady that flat out refused to help us make a reservation at a restaurant for dinner, very rude. Besides her, everyone else went out of their way to help us and spoke English.
The Location was fantastic! We felt safe and were right in the heart of where we wanted to stay, close to restaurants and shopping. The room beautiful, very spacious and decorated nicely. We had a beautiful balcony with chairs to go out and sit in. It had a gorgeous roof top area and a very nice breakfast room.

A few marks on the furnitures and it would have been nice to have an instruction leaflet on how to use things like air con, microwave, dishwasher, etc.
Close to everything, everything easy to use, comfortable, felt safe and secure.

Internally very noisy. We had a room at the back on the third floor - 311 - and there was a steel service staircase next to the room which disturbed us every time somebody traversed it. Also woken in the early hours by noise from neighbouring room. It’s not really 4 star. Luxuries such as dressing gowns and slippers don’t make up for the cheap furnishings and lumpy mattress.
Reception were very helpful, and arranged a restaurant for us for dinner. Rooftop bar was pleasant. Location was okay - on the way to the centre from the train station. Kettle and safe in the room.

The room was hot and the AC was not working because it is still considered winter in Italy. We slept with the bathroom window open, but we could hear people at 4 in the morning

Room too warm. No temperature control other than turning off radiators and opening windows.
Excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Able to walk to hotel from central station. Plenty of places to eat nearby.

The bathroom has an odd black light. Felt like it was hiding maybe some water damage to the ceiling, or wall? Just was odd. The common hallway to the apartment was dark, the lights didn’t turn on. Parking garage is long ways away.
It was very central, the guy to help find parking and then take bags to the apartment two blocks away. People at the breakfast spot were nice.

The trash from the previous clients was still in the room, the windows are NOT soundproof, I could have barely sleep, the material of the bathrobe and towels was very cheap, too harsh for the skin and the staff was not friendly at all. It wasn’t horrible but I wouldn’t book again.
The location of the hotel was perfect.

Some minor maintenance is needed for some facilities. Nothing too major though.
Great location, everything is within walking distance. Rooms are modern and spacious. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

No onsite parking, hotel walls are very thin. I feel like providing even 1-2 in room courtesy bottled waters would be helpful at this price point. Similarly, having to pay to fill a water bottle when spending over 200E/nt rubs me the wrong way. These are small amenities, but go a long way to provide comfort.

- Frustrating experience. When we arrived we were told by the reception we would have breakfast included. Upon checking out, we were demanded to pay for breakfast (42 euro/3 people). If we knew it was not included in our stay, we would much prefer to have breakfast somewhere else and enjoy the city. - bad water pressure in the shower

If you want a quite hotel there might be an issue since outside is quite loud because of the central location and the rooms are not really soundproof

The breakfast choices are a bit limited but as I am not a breakfast fan I didn't care. In fact I skipped breakfast for 2 days. Presentation of the breakfast products is beautiful, very nice detailed decoration, the breakfast staff are very nice and friendly.
Room was exactly on the picture, very spacious, beautiful and cozy terrace, excellent bathroom, comfortable mattress, and big bed. The location of the hotel is perfect. walking distance from the central station where you can grab a train to everywhere. A stone throw to Venice, Milan, Florence, etc.... for a day visit. All the shops are around the hotel, the Piazza Maggiore is also very close.
