Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Please change the bathroom towels to proper ones. They were super clean but not really usable to dry oneself off. I minor improvement can be de lighting in the room. They are way to bright for a room and could light a whole factory.
Great location, quick and easy communication. Nice size room close to everything.

Shower was poorly designed. It was also small with no hand hold so you had to enter the shower to adjust it and if water temp changed you had nowhere to go.
Location. $5 breakfast was very good. Hosts were very nice and helpful.

We had a fantastic time in a rented apartment in the center of Salerno, Italy, during our recent vacation. The location of the apartment was perfect – just a short walk from the lively part of the city, allowing us to easily explore local attractions, enjoy authentic Italian cuisine, and even shop for souvenirs etc. The apartment was impeccably clean, with elegant furnishings and all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay. The host was incredibly hospitable, always ready to help with recommendations or answer any questions we might have about the area. Overall, our stay in this property in Salerno was truly wonderful. Its convenient location, combined with the warm hospitality of the host and comfortable facilities, turned this experience into an unforgettable memory. I would recommend it to anyone planning to visit Salerno and looking for a reliable place to stay.

It's a big plus that the location is close to the train station & shopping street & good restaurants. The host was very warm welcoming, friendly, easy to contact and giving many useful information. I would recommend!

The location was perfect, as it was in walking distance of the train station...and the sea front. It was a very clean, simple but very adequate room, and quiet at night. I had to leave before the 5€ breakfast, but it sounded good for the price.

Nice B&B in the old centre of Salerno. Owners were very supportive and gave good advices and tips for trips and restaurants. Breakfast was very good en real good value for money.

Cannot fault at all.
A beautiful modern interpretation of a mini hotel within a historic property. Just off the main stretch in solerno. Carmine was an amazing host and went out of his way to accommodate us in anything we needed. He made our stay as easy as it could of been. Rooms were comfortable and clean. His suggestion of a restaurants close by did not disappoint. 10/10 would highly recommend or stay again. Thank you!!

Big room and bed, with an amazing huge canvas of Amalfi on the top, big bathroom and shower. The breakfast was incredible, it felt so special. The host was kind to show me where are the best places to eat and what to visit. Everything was very good.

Conv located close to the train station and the main street full of shops, bars and the Amazing ice cream shop just a few doors down! Unfortunately my train was delayed but the owner was super accommodating.

Nice location, close to the ferry terminal. The host, Carmine is very helpful and informative. I only stay one night and he helps me with taxi arrangements.
