Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaTaranto is a work in progress.
The staff and the room were excellent. I loved my verandah with its view of the square. The desk clerk Fabio helped me pick a great place for dinner and had good ideas for museums and churches to tour. The manager greeted me on checkout, a nice personal touch. Excellent stay.

We opted for the room with the terrace right off the room (in the pictures, it's the room to the right that doesn't show a metal balcony, and has a cloth roof), and enjoyed it very much; it was large, held a large table and chairs, faced the clock tower, and expanded the size of our room significantly. The room was pleasant, and bed comfortable. Some neighborhood noise added to the authentic feel of the location, and always ended early. The location was on the far end of the old Taranto island and it was short (20 minutes, maybe) and interesting walking through Taranto Vecchio along Via Duomo and side alleys, or scenic walking along the waterfront promenade, when we wanted to get to the new town for the museum or passeggiata. (Note: on Via Duomo, we enjoyed stopping for a drink at Caffé Letterario.) There were good seafood restaurants right on the square in front of the hotel (see photo for recommendation.) Breakfast was good and varied. Considering it's parking limited, we had no trouble locating it and dropping off and picking up our luggage; the parking was reasonably priced, easy to find and within 10 minutes walk. We were glad to stay in this area early in the upgrades for the 2026 games.

IrelandOutstanding reception staff! The gentleman name Fabio who checked us in was extremely helpful, kind and gave us a lot of information about things to see in Taranto and surrounding towns. He recommended us to visit Restaurant Il Pinnacolo in Alberobello, which was absolutely amazing. Upon arrival we received complimentary welcome drink and amaretti biscuits which was a very nice touch. At the breakfast buffet there was a savoury food selection as well as sweet pastries, yogurts, juices and delicious coffee. The room itself was comfortable, but a bit outdated.

Germanyall ok.
The location of the hotel is good for a walk in the historical center and close to railway and bus stations, very practical when you travel by public transfer, and also restaurants are nearby. The receptionists were super friendly, Francesca showed me the hotel's photo album of "before and after" - really worth seeing what they achieved. Fingers crossed that the entire city manages likewise. Taranto's old quarter and the Lungomare deserve the "renaissance".

United States of AmericaWe wanted to stay in the old town near the national archeological museum, which was a 20 minute walk. The hotel is in a historic building and carefully restored. We chose a room with a balcony and enjoyed reading there with a beverage, available from room service. The lovely breakfast room has a vaulted ceiling. The breakfast had a good selection including fruit, eggs, sliced meats and yoghurt in addition to a variety of cakes and cornetti. There were good restaurants (Il Porto!) and cafes nearby. We will stay again on our next visit to Taranto.

United States of AmericaAt first we were slightly put off by the surroundings of the hotel because the entire old city is being refurbished now. and gentrified in the future. BUT it turned out to be a great location, easy to get around with a great fresh fish restaurant around the corner.
