Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Guests in room opposite behaved loud until 2 am. No property's fault but noise can be an issue if you get unlucky.
Great location, firendly staff, nice design of the rooms. Free breakfast is a nice addition but it's basically a sweet snack and coffee in a coffee bar close -very typical of Italy but not something I consider breakfast where I'm from ;)

Great hospitality in a stylish apartment with all modern comforts. Great location next to the entrance to the historic center, but also accessible by car. I highly recommend it.

Really lovely property - chic and modern and well appointed room. Clever use of space to get more out of it. Location is great- so convenient to reach and to park. This was important to us as we were coming g with a car. Host was very helpful in helping us to secure easy parking g - we were actually able to leave our car I. A spot in front of the hotel rather than having to go to a garage - it was a paid spot but we were lucky it was available when we were ready to park.

We just missed a safe but otherwise were happy. Oh and we could not figure our how to darken the skylight. No problem for us since the timing of our visit in september.
Clos to safe and easy public parking. Very welcome and easy early check in so we could make of our visit. Great location, next to the sassi. Lovely Italian breakfast in next door café in the garden. We recommend!

Breakfast could be improved, but it is not terrible. The croissants are really good but there was not many options other than a croissant.
The bedrooms are modern and nice in a old building. Matera is an amazing place to visit but no need to be more then 2 nights. The hotel is centrally located, only few minutes from the old town and restaurants are plenty nearby. We arrived by a car and there was a parking house located around 5 minutes from the hotel which we was ideal for us. The parking costs 1 euro per hour. Alessandro was friendly and a good host.

Breakfast can be improved with regard to the range of choice.
Excellent small charming property (6 bedrooms) just outside the historic center of Matera. Large room equipped with all services. Staff available and generous with advice for visiting the city.

The breakfast at the nearby cafe was inadequate. Coffee and pastry only.

The room are quite small, the shower and toilet are structures in a way that the other person can see and listen to everything you do
Perfect to visit the city! Has own parking that was essential for us (costs 15€ a day). Margiela soap and cream (so dreamy!)

Problem with air conditioning but I'm sure this will be resolved promptly.
Very nice breakfast served at separate but close location. The location of the property could not be better. Parking onsite at 15 Euro/ day great value.

Filomena was very welcoming and helpful. The apartment was beautifully designed with all amenities required. Location is perfect - just outside the centro storico, a 3 minute walk away, with a parking area very close by at a reasonable price. Breakfast at the coffee shop (which is just next door) was excellent. Will definitely stay again when we return to visit beautiful Matera :)
