Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandI wasn’t prepared for the steep stairs inside but appreciated help getting my suitcase up them.
Historic location but also within walking distance of railway station. Breakfast was very generous though a bit slow

BelgiumNoisy room because big highway just outside. We ordered a big room but god smaller one because the big one was being renovated, still we had to pay for the price of the big room as we booked through booking.com and they couldn’t change our booking. At the breakfast there wasn’t enough tables to seat all the guests so HD to share small table with strangers or leave quickly. Only one staff member having to take care of everything and being overloaded with work.
Beautiful decoration, nicely located in charming old Center of the town.

United KingdomWe were not the biggest fans of what we were served - pastries, cakes etc. To echo other reviews, it is very hard to find, and a lot of steep stairs. I would suggest ignoring the google maps recommended route and instead search for directions to the church close by instead, and it is just near to there. Be careful on the cobbles outside!!
The room was nice although it was quite dark, and we struggled to work the lock in the door. The bed was very. comfy!! The balcony was lovely where we had breakfast. We were a bit worried about coming back at night because it's a dark street but thankfully it was lit.

SpainThe shower is pretty small and there are lots of stairs, so if you are disabled or brining a heavy luggage it will be challenging to go up
The hotel is right in the city centre, the room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was incredible and the staff super friendly

United States of AmericaThe facility is three stories high with narrow stairs - so luggage can be a little problematic.
This is a hidden gem - literally. The location is a little obscure, but the owner did a great job of giving us directions. It is located in a tiny pedestrian only alley and you cannot get a vehicle close. But after you get into the facility is it remarkable. Very quaint old brick and stone work have been creatively weaved into a modern design. Our bathroom had a unique feature - a plexiglass floor over an arched brick floor. It was close to most of the attractions of Ventimiglia. Excellent value for money. Well worth the effort finding the place.

NetherlandsRefill of fridge. Some beverages already in there, at friendly price. But would have appreciated if refilled after use...
Great atmosphere; authentic, historic building in the old part of the city. If you want state of the art, modern & luxurious, don't go here. If you want authenticity, character: yes! Facilities are clean, functional and comfortable. Nice breakfast on roof terrace. Friendly host. Top location. Air-conditioned; daily towel service.

United KingdomDifficult to find. Tricky parking. See earlier comments. Lots of steep stairs.
Great location. It is a very short walk away from the cathedral. Park as close to the cathedral as you can. Walk to the little cathedral Square. Vico Olivi is a tiny street down from the cathedral and restaurant painted green. Good restaurant. Beautifully renovated apartment. Good breakfast on a beautiful rooftop terrace. Comfortable bed. Good bathroom /shower.

NetherlandsIt was not really easy to find and the staff was quite late for checking in. If you travel by car make sure you will drive up to the cathedral.
This B&B is really wonderful. The decoration is very charming and it really feels like a home. The breakfast on the roof terrace is just stunning. They have thought about all the details like beautiful tableware. A great experience!

AustraliaWe walked from the train station and the maps took us an incredibly steep way up. Would recommend taking a taxi if you’re coming from the train station instead. I also didn’t realise that the host required to know the time we were arriving in order to check-in (as it is more a b&b than hotel. We were out of reception for awhile so weren’t able to organise the timing – we had to wait at the front door for over 30 minutes before we could get settled in our room. The staff could have been a bit friendlier as I felt a little unwelcome during our stay.
The room was lovely as well as the communal areas. Everything was lovingly decorated and bathroom facilities were clean and modern. The restaurant near the hotel was fantastic. Great for exploring the old town of Ventimiglia.

Fantastic location and decor of both the room and the communal areas of the tastefully done B&B. Stunning little terrace with views to the old city’s cathedral where a tasty Italian breakfast is served. Easy access to the beach via the elevator.

United KingdomFor some reason, Apple Maps had trouble finding the location and kept sending us walking in circles when we used the name of the B&B. But once we input the actual address, we found it.

AustraliaWe liked everything at the B&B itself
We loved the room! Very quaint, traditional features mixed with lovely modern bathroom and small modern kitchen. Bedroom was super cute and bed was comfortable. This was a very unique little B&B with lovely roof top where we had a delightful breakfast. The decor was very fitting. Our room also had lovely comfortable sitting chair and small sofa. Security of building and room was very good. Location was great in the old town. Although we wouldn’t recommend Ventimiglia itself (was quiet dirty and not really what we expected - we wouldn’t go again). This place was nice to stay in

EstoniaBreakfast was the same every day for 3 days and consists mostly of sweet things and bread. On the last day we asked to have breakfast at 7 am because we needed to catch the train, but it was not allowed although there are only 3-4 guest at the time so it was not exactly clear why it is hard to do. There were not utensils to cook in the kitchen area apart from kettle, pot and 1 fork. We could take it from the common kitchen but it was also poorly equipped. If you plan to properly cook, it will be hard to do. Check in is slightly hectic and consist of several calls to the owner’s phone and waiting in front of the door (it is not a hotel with reception or something). Not horrible, but could be more client-friendly.
We stayed in a nice and stylish unit consisting of bedroom and living room with a small kitchen space. Well designed and looks renovated. Breakfast on a beautiful terrace, amazing cutlery, great views around, amazing flowers everywhere. Location is beautiful old town of Ventimiglia, but be ready to go uphill for quite a bit. It was not an issue for us, but might be for some people. Train station is 10 min walk, the beach is around 7 min walk. We fell in love with the town of Ventimiglia and can highly recommend it to everyone looking for something authentic Italian.
