Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

There isn't much not to like. The only downside is that the location is not in the immediate vicinity of the center of the city, something that can make a difference to a tourist. However, there is a bus stop within meters of the door, and even if one chooses to walk to the town center, it only takes about 15 minutes.
The owner/operator is particularly nice and helpful: he is of a cheery disposition and provided very useful advice that helped us with our visit. The breakfast was always fresh, and the facility is clean. I would go there again!

The location is great. Close to many bus stops and restaurants. It is not noisy at all when you close the windows. There is airco. The breakfast is also good. The owner Lorenzo is very helpful. The rooms are very nice.

There were no negatives!
Our host, Lorenzo, was exceptional! No ask was too much, one morning we missed breakfast and he went to a local bakery to bring us pastries so that we had something to eat! He also provided some great restaurant recommendations! The location was a 10 minute walk from the main square and the room was modern, spacious and had everything we needed.

Lorenzo is a great host. He is very helpful and available to answer all your questions. He also provides good recommendations in relation to places to visit and restaurants to try traditional food.

Everything was perfect!
The B&B Midnight in Genova is a surer nice cozy place located in a nice area of Genova. Very clean with a lot of amenities and a super breakfast. Lorenzo is a great host. Very kind and gentle. He gave us a lot of tips what ti visit and where to have dinner.

All good.
The breakfast was nice and very sufficient. The location allowed us to walk to the city centre each day. Lorenzo was the perfect host and he left nothing to chance. He made our stay most enjoyable.

The staff was very helpful. I liked the cleanliness of the place. The breakfast was delicious (croissant, toast, cornflakes,..., tea, coffee, milk, jus). I stayed for 5 days, the hotel was very close to my work.

We liked everything :)
We liked everything. Great location, big room and bathroom. Such an easy communication and easy check-in/check-out. Would highly recommend to stay here! Even a small breakfast is included for a great start into the day ☺️.

Depending on time, not so easy to park a car nearby, I found a spot (extra paid, managed by the Genova city) in the street nearby.
Small place (3 rooms) but all perfectly managed, the room was more than OK. The hotel within walking distance to the centre and harbour and typical Italian breakfest with coffee and cornetto. More than friendly and helpful staff.

Everything was perfect.
Very clean and cosy room, the host was very friendly and helped with everything we asked for. Parking is with a citizen parking card for 5€/day right on the next street possible. Bus and train station were in 3 min walk away from the apartment.

Noisy extremely! But, after closing the window it was good. No parking but I guess this is a metropolitan cities problem. After late arrival, the first morning we woke up late and part of the breakfast was over. Tbe quantity of focacca was insufficient eventually. Next morning we were on time and we saw a small focacca cut into small pieces for three rooms. We ate just by one piece and left the rest to other rooms which the previous stayers did not do for us :)
