This is a must stay hotel. everything was great. the breakfast, the staff, the location...all perfect. the spa is worth the extra fee. Matera really took out breath away. we will be back and will stay here. Cant recommend enough, If you have heavy luggage, call in advance and see if they can send a van for you.

Phenomenal location right in the heart of the old city! LOVED the Thermae pools/experience! Our room was so cool & extremely comfortable - staff was excellent & very responsive! Parking made so easy w/their partnership w/close by garage. Beautiful view from our 2nd floor terrace!

The location and breakfast was great, the rooms were really nice too. We arrived in Matera by car, as the hotel is in ZTL zone, we had to park at a garage at some distance. The hotel provided free pickup and drop off, which was quite helpful.

The spa was amazing and very relaxing after a day walking around the Sassi. The rooms were really unique, spacious, and cool with comfortable beds. We had a very nice jacuzzi bath with coloured lighting and also in the shower. We stayed in the dependence suite but it wasn't onerous to walk the short distance for breakfast which was very nice too.

Great location, beautiful room full of character as well as being very well appointed. The breakfast was fantastic- great choice and lots of locally produced high quality items. But best of all was the amazing spa which is unique and has to be experienced. The massages were also among the best we have ever had.

Those were really cold nights in December and the room has no kettle. We could only get hot water from the hotel’s bar which is quite far from our annex room.

So many things!!!! The cave room is spacious and full to f character. Very nice breakfast and the spa is a wonderful experience.

Beautiful cave hotel situated in the sasso barisano. The room was cozy, the spa was as beautiful as it looks in the picture (worth the 25 euro) and the breakfast was full of delicious local products. We appreciated the free ride from the parking lot.

I loved everything about this place. The room was an amazing little cave. The view was stunning - sitting outside at the tables each night just admiring the city was a highlight. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The thermae romanae was fantastic and so relaxing!

Too many steps to get to the center also the elevator doesn't take you to your room. You have to climb stairs with luggage. No help from reception.

The location, the view, the experience are fantastic. Breakfast is awesome too. There is pick up service from the garage with the lovely help of aris. Just a short walk to the town center and all the historic sites. We did that thermae and it was a relaxing experience. Staffs were polite and accommodating.

Staircase!!!?? Can't be avoided in matera, but lugging heavy luggage over 3 flights of stairs can be a challenge. So pack light where possible. Still the hotel was perfect in every way.

Love everything about it. Breakfast was sumptuous location was perfect.. Bath tub n shower do not have doors though take note.
