Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe washrooms were all quite tight, being an old building. The room was very hot - there were fans provided, though there was an air conditioner not in use. Breakfast was straight forward cereal and packaged toast.
Average dorm room with comfortable bunk beds, a good amount of space, and a big window looking at the street. There were large lockers in the room, big enough for a medium sized bag. Multiple individual washrooms to use. Common area usually had someone to talk to. Staff were all fantastic and friendly. The Spyro's walking tour through the hostel was fantastic!

FranceThe noise. Why people in the bedroom were always keeping the door wide open while we were right in front of the kitchen/common space. I would recommend to avoid this big bedroom if you want some calm. Curtains not all around the bed.
Super well located. Nice bathrooms. Big enough and space to put your clothes. Curtains to the bed BUT not on all the sides.

RussiaProbably that's fine in Italy but if you book it closer to the day of your stay it turns out to be very expensive
Brilliant people work in this hostel. All the stuff are friendly and smiley people ready to help you with any question. There're a lot of activities to choose for everyday rest. Also there're regular free/donation city tours. Those guys even provide an online map with best locations in and outside of Genova. A little breakfast with cookies and tea is included

ItalyCheck in took some time, but no real problems here.
Location of hostel is perfect for walking around. Easy to reach sites and the sea. Staff was friendly in all interactions. Building itself was very old and nice, but everything seemed to be running great. Bathrooms and rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable, the room did not seem too crowded, also it was painted a nice shade of pink. Lovely piano playing downstairs in the evening.

UkraineNoise at night :( and everything is a bit worn out and shabby (except for beds, they are very much OK)
Very good location (if you don't mind the presence of local prostitutes, but they're hardly visible, and anyway it's an essential part of those dark narrow streets of historical old city), friendly staff, the bed was fine. Also don't miss Spyro's walking tour! (ask at the reception)

ItalyThe price was a little high. I wish it was breakfast.
Kitchen was very perfectttt, i used to something for cooking anddd it was free, i liked it. I losted my wallet in genoa and they helped me a lot. I was a little scared when i was going because I was going at night in the side streets of the location, i think genoa is too dangerous. The sheets were pretty clean. The toilets smelled clean. I liked it yess. 🥰

NorwayIt's not clear if hostel has 'silent hours' policy between 10 pm and 6 am or not? Very noisy tourists dont respect others people need for rest...and it seems like no one cares
