Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Fantastic location. Very friendly and responsive hosts, went the extra mile to be helpful. Apartment was everything you need. Lots of space, with cosy/characterful feel. Lovely old building with a quiet courtyard. Thank you.

2nd bedroom was accessed off the first bedroom, which meant you disturbed the person in the first bedroom if you needed the WC or needed to use shower. Not an issue I guess for families but when travelling with friends had to change sleeping arrangements and used the bed in the lounge.
Great location, well equipped apartment, excellent communication with owner and easy to check in.

The property wasn’t particularly well equipped. No tea, coffee or toiletries which we have experienced in other properties. Also very steep stairs to access the property so wouldn’t recommend for people with walking difficulties.
The location was fantastic. Incredible bakery in the same street and so easy to get around.

Getting to the bathtub was a bit challenging and it is high for seniors. Not ideal if you have physical challenges.
Great central location and next to a very popular bakery. It is a bit outdated but it has everything you need for your stay. The owner was really nice and accommodating.

Extremely noisy in the night .
Location was amazing, plenty of shops and restaurants right under the building. All the main attractions were within walking distance.

During the middle of the night the recycling and trash trucks are loud, as were the occasional drunk passersby. At times, however, it was very quiet and peaceful. Having such a good location meant being near a very popular fornaio that filled their trash and recycling each day due to sheer volume of customers. I think it's definitely a worthwhile tradeoff but it is worth noting that there's this occasional late night noise. One of the beds was a bit too thin also, not a huge deal.
Obv a terrific location. Pretty surreal to be so ensconced in Centro Storico. The apartment was well appointed, with plenty of comfortable places to chill, sleep, cook or read a book. Really cool classic appliances that allowed us to cook a bit--just enough. Just can't say enough about the location and being able to throw open those shutters to the chatter and excitement of the streets.

It needs a bit of an update/upgrade to some of its fitnout eg showers and dishwasher could both do with a fit/replacment. But these are minor issues in the scheme of it but it would make a real difference. Other than that loved the place.
Amazing location right in the middle of the old area. The appartment is quiet and comfortable, once you pass the door you leave the street behind.

the locks were challenging but this is NOT unique for Italy. American locks are very different. would have appreciated more detailed explanation that top lock is done first
It was perfectly located. we had a scooter and got everywhere within ten minutes. Restaurant across the road was perfect for morning coffee and a snack. Host was very responsive to all of our inquiries and allowed us to leave our bags before check in. Windows opened right onto lovely little street below

The apartment didn't have the necessary essentials such as samples of shampoo or shower gel! Τhe heating was not adequate throughout the house. The sound insulation is not very good because we were listening the TV of the neighbors.
We loved the location, it was close to all the sightseeings And quiet neighborhood! Alessia was helpful as much as we need it and the book of Civitas as well. Definitely value for money!

The main bed in a sepatate room is unconftable. The mattress is very thin 10-12 cm. This apartment has good years behind it. If you don't care about it , the location will reward it.
The best of the apartment is location. Close to every place of interest and close to Campo dei Fiori. You can reach the apartment by regional train (up to Trastevere station) and tram no 8 (8 stops) . In total 9,5 EUR/pax. you can by both tickets at the railway station at the airport. The apartment is good for a week-end stay. The host is very kind.
