Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

A little more storage space for clothes would be great There is a road between the hotel and the beach (nothing the hotel can do but of course it would be nicer if it was right by the sea)

The inevitable traffic noise on the seafront street that is typical of Italian seaside towns. As to the hotel itself, it exceeded all of our expectations! We were told that in the high summer season the street is closed to traffic for much of the day, so the noise is abated at that time.
The breakfast offering was exceptional! All the sweet Italian cakes, etc. plus a great selection of little savory delights featuring such things as various toasts topped with sliced tomato, olive oil, oregano, thyme, etc., bacon, eggs, various Italian cold cuts, fresh rolls, tasty bread, fresh fruit, etc. The rooms very very generous in size, spotlessly clean, wonderful walk-in showers, high quality fittings in the baths, large sofa, seafront views, balconies overlooking the bay, well furnished for relaxing! Most of all, the rooms were very quiet once the glass doors were shut and the electric jalousie closed as well.

Staff is very welcoming, the location is just perfect, modern room with beautiful local decorations (you may learn the story behind), quiet and comfotable bed. The view from the sea side room was just dreamful. You could sleep with no external noise, just sensing the waves of the sea

We had an appartment with jacouzzi on the terrace that offers sea views and also the sunrise. It is the best choice how to relax after the whole day discovering the beauties of Sicily! Also the bathroom was very nice with double shower and bath as well. The breakfast was very tasty and huge. Thank you for such a nice stay at your place!

I wish the main light was able to stay on longer. I was doing some work, but I had to get up every few minutes to keep turning the light on because it would turn off automatically. The jacuzzi could also be cleaned internally more. You could see the dirt come up with the bubbles along the sides.
The personnel all had excellent customer service. I loved their breakfast served and the Junior Suite with the jacuzzi.

The Nautilus hotel exceeded our expectations, great value for the price. The continental breakfast was large and had many options. All of the reception staff were very kind and gave my husband and I good recommendations of things to do nearby.

Would have liked better instructions about getting to hotel, mind you we didn't ask. We came out of train station and was going to walk to hotel. There is a busy road to walk through so we got a taxi. We paid a rip off price of 20euro for a reasonably short drive to the hotel. Later we found out there is bus stop opposite the train station with frequent buses. You would still need to know where to get off as the bus doesn't go along the beach but a road that runs parallel. Get return tickets to Taormina as the bus gets very full going back. The hotel room was fantastic but there were alot of lights in the room at night probably due to all the modern fittings
The best hotel we stayed in on our tour around Sicily. Very modern hotel with all the frills. Fantastic breakfast, the best we have had. Close to bus stop to Taormina. Close to lots of restaurants along beach front. A great place to relax and then getting bus for the day to Taormina which was an amazing place. We wished we had stayed at the hotel an extra night and done a day trip to Catania rather than spending a night in Catania. We could have got the bus to the airport from there. 10 min walk to where you can do boat tours

I would definitely recommend this hotel! The staff was always so nice, available, and helpful. Our room was great -- always clean. We loved the hotel breakfast. The location was also perfect -- the hotel is on the beach and there are lots of restaurants to easily walk to. And it is a short walk to the bus station, which takes you to Taormina. Great experience here!
