Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MaltaWe had problems with wifi connections and the AC in our room wasn't working properly. (Nonetheless, we didn't bother to ask about the AC given that it was only hot on our last two days and we were leaving anyway.)
Overall, we had a great stay at B&B Hotel in Trieste. The location was particularly convenient, situated just near the bus and train station, and only a 15-minute walk from the old city centre. The staff were very friendly and spoke good English, making communication easy and pleasant. Additionally, the breakfast option was definitely worth it and it offered a great variety of options.

United KingdomThe initial room I was given was termed an 'upgrade'. It was huge. But the walls were paper thin and I could hear every movment and sound quite clearly from the room next door. Also, it took an age to get hot water to come through - ironic when notices were asking clients not to waste water while brushing teeth! It was bad enough for me to ask to be moved. The subsequent room was very well insulated. The rooms were clean but a bit tired and needed a bit of sprucing up. I tend to avoid B&B breakfasts and seek out a cafe in town for the environment, better quality and value.
Useful location for the station. Good value. Lift. B&B Hotel attention to environment details.

CanadaNothing, really. It is a budget hotel, which shows a bit, but it offered good value.
The hotel is virtually across the street from the train station. My assigned room changed so that I could check in a little early. The breakfast was good. My room was clean and quiet.

United States of AmericaThe location was great! It was oddly warm for March so we had the windows open for sleeping. Unfortunately, the seagulls don’t seem to sleep. There were also guests on our floor who returned after 11pm and their children were running and yelling in the hall. It ended quickly when their parents realized what was happening and told them people were sleeping. The entire room was great. The shower head hook was broken and didn’t hold the shower head, so it kept falling. The staff was apologetic and made notes for maintenance immediately.
Location was fantastic! Many restaurants within 15 minutes of walking. It was very clean and their attention to being eco-friendly is amazing.

SerbiaVery noisy during the night. From several rooms, it was laughing, singing, and screaming. Also, the hallway was crowded starting from early morning. Maybe it is the best solution to have a night shift in the reception for complaints.
The location is good, and the staff was very polite.

SerbiaThe room we got was on the ground floor, the windows were cloudy and difficult to open, so we didn't have a view of the street and the city.

South AfricaTHE CHECK INTO THE SMALL LOFT ROOM WHERE THERE WAS NO SPACE TO MOVE . ACTUALLY AN INSULT TO SEASONED TRAVELERS WHO ARE NOT USED TO LIVING IN SUCH AN ENVIRONMENT . It is suited to single travelers or back backers looking for a place to stay for 1 night only. They should use their discretion when allocating rooms and especially when a Client emails the Property alerting them that they saw these loft rooms and don't want it.
On Check in we were given a room on the 4th Floor . It turned out to be a small LOFT room , No Windows and no Aircon working . We were disgusted . A small double bed was pushed up against a wall . I saw these rooms and explicitly asked not to be booked into a LOFT Room . Found it an insult to be placed into what I would describe as fit for a Child's Room . We arrived after 22H00 that night . I refused to stay in it as my wife is an Asthmatic and we cant live in a room with NO AIR. The receptionist was adamant that is what we booked and payed for in ADVANCE . Eventually she looked and the gave us their nest room which was available on the 1st Floor . We've traveled and stayed in Hotels on all Continents livable . This was the worst experience at our age 71 coming off traveling for 24 hours . The receptionist after upgrading the room said we must now write good reviews . My concions and integrity does not allow me to do this as their may be other Travelers who may have the same experience . JUST MAKE SURE YOU DON'T GET THE LOFT ROOM AND THEIR IS NO AIRCON IN ROOMS IN WINTER I WAS TOLD .
