Everything was superb. The breakfast was a continental range, but the selling point was their own vegan restaurant where we ate one evening - a special treat type of meal which was excellent. The location is amazing - views spectacular, and convenient for San Gimignano and Sienna. The medieval hilltown itself has plenty of places to eat. The only issue was missing the Funiculor on arrival, so quite a climb! But the best bit was the hosts - super friendly, wanting to help, giving advice etc. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay here! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the place has character (in a good way!), it felt unique, comfortable and cozy. It added to our overall experience in Certaldo Alto and the area in general. The breakfasts were delicious, and were lucky to dine in their restaurant one evening for a delicious vegan meal. Enjoying the views and perhaps a spritz from the terrace was also enjoyable. Erik was a wonderful, kind host always available to help with anything or offer recommendations. Thank you!

Sweet spot in a gorgeous setting! We loved the lovely patio where you could eat breakfast overlooking the beautiful country side. Certaldo is such a quiet, pretty town worth visiting.

Erik was so helpful, from the moment I made the booking, with directions, with dinner, which was Superb! Vegan AND Gluten Free, and great price. The staff member on reception was lovely for pretty much the entirety of our stay then, 5 minutes after we left, called us and accused us of stealing a coat hanger and was fairly rude over the phone. Fortunately we were right outside and could go and show that we couldn’t have taken the hanger since it wouldn’t even fit in our bags. This incident took a lot of gloss off what was otherwise a really lovely stay. We’d have come straight back here if it wasn’t for this incident, but will now look at other properties first.

Can’t say enough about this place!! From the moment my friend & I arrived we felt so warm and welcome. The owners are very communicative and the restaurant is AMAZING. Breakfast each morning far exceeded my expectations with a variety of pastries, coffees, teas, and a full menu. A charming little villa situated on a hillside in Certaldo with panoramic views. I will definitely stay here again.

Nothing it was perfect for a 2 night stay.

Well located at the top of the village with lovely views over the rural land. Staff were great & very communicative. Breakfast was plentiful with fresh food & fruits. This old part of the town has exceptional restaurants. We chose to stay here & travel into Florence for the day which was easy. I would love to stay again at Ossetian Del Vicario.

My biggest complaint would be no AC, we were there in June so it was bearable but definitely wouldn't have been able to do it mid summer..it said they have fans but they did not ...and beds were very small and not very comfortable...

if you want the total Tuscany feel this is it, perched high on a hill overlooking the Tuscan hills, this small medieval town with cobblestone streets has everything you need, several restaurants and shops in the village, breakfast is served on the patio with gorgeous views...Keep in mind this building is old, rooms are small, No AC ...I would definitely recommend staying in the cooler months... Eric was amazing always there for whatever was needed and served us a great breakfast every morning

While the historical ambiance and location were impressive, I must admit that I am heartbroken to give this review due to the almost unbearable conditions we experienced during the heatwave. The rooms lacked proper air conditioning or ventilation, and it was incredibly hot, making it nearly impossible to rest or sleep comfortably. We do understand that an AC can‘t be incorporated in the building but nowadays there are many more AC systems and in the end one should not rent if the temperature in the room is 40C! While it is common sense and unthinkable to offer a room without proper heating during a strong winter so should be in summer if the location can‘t provide an effective cooling system. The fan is simply not enough and it is not about luxury it is about health. I strongly advise the host to proper inform the guest about the heating problem and offer free cancelation. Being an old monastery we had the impression it would be anyway a chillier please, it‘s not the case. As this is more a summer issue I choose not to downgrade the property.

The location was conveniently close to several charming Tuscan villages and iconic landmarks, making it an ideal base for exploring the region. The hotel's terrace was an absolute highlight of my visit. With sweeping views of the picturesque Tuscan countryside, it was the perfect spot to unwind, soak in the sunsets, and appreciate the beauty of the region. Whether it was savoring a delicious breakfast or enjoying a glass of local wine in the evening, the terrace provided a delightful ambiance that captured the essence of Tuscany. The host was very friendly and helpful to us, easy to reach by phone/whatsupp. The rooms are old style decorated (like in the pictures) and we found the bed to be comfortable. There is also a vegetarian restaurant but we didn’t try it.

The bed and pillows were really uncomfortable, so pack your own pillow if you can! The shower didnt have a hook to hang on either so you have to hold it while you are showering.

Location was stunning (views to die for) , breakfast was yummy too. Staff were friendly, helpful and kind :)

Great stay in a beautiful location! Owners were very helpful with recommendations for the area and helping with taxis. The building had lots of character and history and the terrace with views is an amazing bonus. We would definitely stay here again!
