Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We weren't expecting much from the town and we were right. The hotel is quite a long walk from the station but it is flat along a lovely promenade, if the weather is good.
The hotel is clean, comfortable and we were given a room with a wonderful view over the sea. The room was really special, better than I was expecting. The staff were super friendly and the breakfast was the best value I have ever had. €5 for all you can eat fantastic buffet.

Much of the property is in need of extensive renovation and is old and tired
Great location right across from the beach. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of variety. Our junior suite was wonderful and had a magnificent view. Staff were very friendly and accommodating with every request

There was nothing we didn't like. We were very pleased we chose to return here.
We love this hotel. Rooms have been refurbished. Though we had a suite we will get a bigger one next time. Good position, beach across the road. Great meals, wonderful staff ready to do anything to help make your stay comfortable.

Not a thing.
This place is a classic (but modern) seaside hotel, fully staffed, with a great restaurant and superb breakfast. And it has its own (free, it seems) parking lot. And many thanks to Marika for helping us deal with some critical transportation (flying) issues. (I wonder: How long can such a great place survive? Try it!)

Breakfast on day 1 was served by room service, but I had no idea what I was ordering, it was OK but needed more bread, I asked for 2 bread expecting rolls, got 3 tiny slices.
Room was an upgrade, Sky , they didn't know I don't watch TV. Location is another very Italian resort but I found good food both nights.

Bed was smaller than expected. Comfort okay. Walls are thin and I heard my neighbors a lot. :(

Hotel Palace is sort of misplaced jewel; a very decent hotel found in a city not so much worth visiting.
Satisfactory options in terms of breakfast. Rooms offerring luxury (more than expected). Polite and friendly staff with good command of the English language (which is rarely the case in southern Italy).

Frankly speaking, you have to be very finicky to find something unlikable about this place
The whole experience of Catanzaro Lido was enhanced by the Hotel experience, the whole thing was a complete package. Friendliness, cleanliness and enthusiasm everywhere

They have a hotel beach but reserving a spot there was difficult and the woman who worked by the beach was rude. They charge a high rate for an umbrella and they claim they are occupied even when spots are free.

No taxi service, better like walking anywhere you want to go.... no shower wall, you took a shower and needed a boat when you got out

Hotel needs a revamp, smell of drainage throughout the hotel. Was last here a few years ago, and nothing has been done in those years. they seem to have spruced up the exterior, but its the interior that needs doing. Ceilings with water marks due to leaks. Laminate flooring coming apart. The room was clean enough, and i paid for a sea view at extra cost, but needs a serious revamp.
Friendly staff,room size and view. Note enough choice at breakfast. Only one hot dish,scrambled eggs and bacon
