Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWhen we upgraded to a "junior suite" the room was a bit small and narrow, though we enjoyed extras like bathrobes. Because it is a rambling old building there are very few rooms with glorious views of the square. The great lounge (the historic salone) was sometimes booked for conferences so not 100% available for hotel residents.
Cool modern hotel constructed inside a Renaissance palace in the historic centre, with access to one large salone from the original design. Breakfast room tucked into the attic but in good weather you can eat on the terrace, and come back 24-7 for snacks. Staff very helpful, printed documents I needed for work, prebooked a cab, moved our bags when we switched rooms. One floor of the palazzo is cut off from the hotel and used as an art gallery, but it's accessible some days and has interesting frescoes.

United States of AmericaIt was not a very noisy room but we could hear people on the street. Maybe it's the best one can do in the old city.
The staff were exceptionally helpful when we parked in the wrong place and then got lost walking to the hotel. They came and found us, and the next day arranged transport to where we did park.

United States of AmericaIt was scary to get to if you were checking in at night. You have to work your way through a maze of narrow corridors formed by buildings with some dark alleys. It is best to check in early.
The accommodations and staff were fantastic.

United KingdomIt is in the red light district so there were a lot of prostitutes around! It didn’t bother us that much but perhaps wouldn’t be great for those with children.
Very pretty building in a good central location for sight seeing. The room was lovely and staff helpful

SwitzerlandIf you have a lot of heavy stuff it is a bit hard to reach because taxis do not arrive there, it is a pedestrian area. Also it is better to arrive during the day because it can be disorienting if you do not know the city (kind of like a labyrinth). The bed was not the comfiest, a bit saggy, and too close to the window but it may have just been my room.
This is a very beautiful hotel! Very impressive when you enter, the design is impeccable and a perfect mix of modern and ancient romantic Italian architecture. Room very clean. They had a lot of nice things in the room, teas, sodas, lotions etc. It really felt like a luxury experience. It looks out on a square that is so magical, even had a lot of ambience when it was raining in the winter. On the second floor and at the entrance there is a lounge where you can read lots of design and travel books. There was a heat/ac machine in the room that worked well. Staff very helpful. I wished I could stay here longer.

FranceIt was a little hard to find on foot and you have to dare go through a really narrow alley to get there in which there are some very sweet sex workers plying their trade and some not so sweet customers/dealers that make it a little scary. There might be easier ways to get there but I just followed Google Maps’ instructions. It was winter during my stay so it was quiet but the piazza in front might get noisy in summer
Elegant, splendid situation, very kind and attentive service. Afternoon tea on the house is a really nice plus
