Kitchen was rather limited if self catering, particularly the two plate hob. Several light fittings did not work. Impossible to obtain WiFi in room. Apart from utensils no other basics were provided in kitchen (eg salt,pepper,sugar, teabags,water etc).On arrival we sent instructions to collect the key to our room from a table at reception. Having read the large number of positive comments about the level of hospitality we were rather surprised (and disappointed) that were rather left to our own devices. The two members of staff which we met were both very friendly but It was a pity that we never met the hosts. Again, the Evening meal was perfectly adequate - tasty & reasonably generous - but having read so many rave reviews we were left a little underwhelmed. Maybe we were unlucky or maybe because it was out of season (late October) but sadly this stay did not live up to our expectations.

Fabulous buildings & location. Large terrace which couldn’t really be fully appreciated in late October. The antique olive pressing equipment was spectacular. Like a museum.

Nothing! We will definitely be back. One thing to note is that the taxi from Figline Valdarno Station is €40 and you need cash.

Everything about San Leo is perfect. The food is exceptional, all fresh and lovingly made. The staff are amazing and made us feel very welcome. The grounds are also lovely and nice to walk around. Thank you San Leo for a fantastic trip.

Beautiful setting with gorgeous views and gardens/ courtyard. We particularly loved the infinity pool area, so much so that we scrapped our plans for the morning to relax there! Host was incredibly lovely. Dinner was delicious (and so much of it!) and very reasonably priced.

Excellent atmosphere to enjoy real Toscana. Owners did their best by making many course dinner in real grill oven inside the building. Tiramisu dessert was one of the best I tasted. Highly recommend to take a dinner during your stay here.

Hard to find something

Patricia is a great host! we came just at the time of harvesting olive oil and was great (tasting) experience for entire family. The place is a olive oil farm transferred partly to “agriturismo” place. patricia keeps things like they are/were in Chianti region. Food is traditional and that is part of experience as well. Literally you have a feeling as living and eating as the locals. This is place for people who want to learn more about Chianti, people there and their culture. Its not for the ones expecting European breakfast and plenty choice for the Dinner at restaurant.

Apart from Elsa who is really great, the rest of the experience didn't feel welcoming. Along with the keys at arrival there were 3 or 4 pages of rules, which of course is understandable ("if there's a sign (or a rule) there's a story") but the way they are written and delivered feels like they are expecting every guest to be a vandal, and made us overconscious and worried. The free wifi is the type you have to register with an email etc and works only in the reception area.

Multitasking Elsa was the only staff we saw there and she was great! The place seems very well taken care of and the apartment was very clean. Owner Patrizia always answered my messages. The towels were great.

Only down side is that the wifi didn’t work on any of our phones. We tried everything and the staff didn’t now how to help us. The only way to make it work was to stand infront of the reception and even so it didn’t work very well. It’s not their fault but it’s something they could check it. Apart from that, everything fine.

All services that should normally have been included are considered extra and have additional costs (cleaning, linen change, towel change, etc.). General cleanliness leaves much to be desired. The bathroom looks more like a temporary arrangement. The food used in the preparation of meals is from the supermarket. Things should be different in a agricola residence. Breakfast is very precarious, with poor quality ingredients.

The place where the residence is located is a wonderful one, detached as if from postcards. The main building is also a remarkable historical monument. The staff involved in the management of the residence is working hard, led by Patrizia. All thanks in this regard.
