Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Our flight was a late evening flight so a later check out would've been good but when enquired she did what she could and recommended a discounted place we could keep our luggage because we stayed here so a negative turned into positive.
Location was fab as well as the service we received from Valentina and the value for money. Valentina was helpful during check in as our flight got cancelled and so didn't want to inconvenience her so informed her of this and she was very understanding. The bed was REALLY comfortable and clean. Even provided basic amenities along with a weekends worth of shower gel (something we forgot to pack). Shower was powerful and bathroom was clean. She was kind enough to provide us with a bottle of wine too. This place was exactly what we needed for our weekend away and so glad it wasn't on the penny side like every other hotel in Rome. Literally 3 mins walk to the colloseum and other restaurants/bars- loved it. Will definitely be recommending Decos Place Roma to friends & family, thank you!!

Other people in the building were very loud in the middle of the night which kept us up.
Location was perfect! The bed and sofa bed were both comfy.

No lift (there is one but for some reason you can’t use it as a guest). Lots of stairs! We had a lot of luggage so it was a royal paint in the bum…
Location. Absolutely cannot get a better location. Done in the evening within an arms throw of the coliseum. Communication with owner was superb.

The location is pretty close to the colosseo and there are some good restaurants nearby. The room is clean and cozy, feels like going back to my home. And I like the eco-bag!😊

Bathroom is quite small, didn’t have much space to turn around in there but wasn’t a total bust. :)
The place is pretty nice, great location, staff is very welcoming and helpful. it was a very good stay.

I missed a small pot in the kitchen.
We really liked the location. I liked the folder with suggestions for visiting tourist destinations with children. I would highly recommend the owner, quick response, great communication. We were given wine and water as a welcome.

We really enjoy to stay in that property! Rooms were very clean with Air Condition. We also get some free welcome gifts (coffee/tea, bottle of wine, water). Contact with property owner was excellent (when we had an issue with air condition, technician has come in less than 1h after my WhatsApp message). Kitchen has been enhanced with all necessary things to cook food by your own. Property was also close to the Coliseum (few minutes walk) and subway station

The host was great and accommodate our check in even at 9 pm as we got delayed by train. She explained all the details and available facilities. The house is very near to colosseum(400mts) and you have plenty of bus/tram stops near by the house to travel in any direction. The house has all the amenties and host provided us some pasta on arrival which was really good. We stayed for about 3 nights and were able to catch up on all the touristic places comfortably. I would definitely recommend this accommodation.

The apartment building was somewhat rundown with sound travelling between rooms.
The location was great and a very short walk from the colosseum and places to eat.

The room was small, with hardly any space to store your luggage for a trip longer than a few days. The bathroom was very small, making it difficult to move around however it is fine for 2 adults over a short period of time. The room was dusty, with dust going up the walls however clean otherwise. The apartment was also noisy at night time.
The location of the apartment is within a few minutes walk to the Colosseum. The area has lots of restaurants nearby and a local supermarket. The lady that met us to give us the keys was lovely, smiley, and helpful. The apartment clean, with enough facilities to cook your own food if desired. Good place to stay for a short break for 2 people.

The socket on the right side of the bed wasn’t working, the TV wasn’t working.

The apartment is fully equipped. We had a perfect stay. It is located very close to the Colosseum and many restaurants. The hostess was very nice and helpful. She welcomed us with a wine and left a binder with recommendations for visiting the city.
